Brett Hull and Adam Oates were called Hull and Oates (Private Ice) when they both played for the St. Louis Blues.

The Chicago Blackhawks are number one in the west, on their way to being number one in the league and winning the 2017 Stanley Cup, the same year that Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm, and James Pankow get inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

Can fingertips be reconnected?

You're seriously on that bandwagon? Slashes like that happen 20 times a game. It's unfortunate he got the finger and destroyed it, but it happens all the time.

I think the problem people have is that Crosby gets away with being a dick pretty often and this happens to be a bloody example.

It's not at all a good example. It's a penalty, yes. Refs miss it all the time, but people are talking about suspending him and shit?

Should probably have been fined for sticking O'Reilly, though.

Why not suspended a game for O'Reilly?

Yes but if a finger gets destroyed as the result of a penalty it should be a match penalty. Crosby didn't intend to destroy his finger but the NHL rule book doesn't care about intent with respect to illegal acts which cause injury.

A match penalty is given out when a player intends to injure another player. What are you even saying?

But I'm sure the next time Jamie Benn tries to slash an opponent's stick and gets a piece of the opponent's hand, you'll be screaming for a suspension?

Quote:
A player who receives a match penalty is ejected. A match penalty is imposed for deliberately injuring another player as well as attempting to injure another player. Many other penalties automatically become match penalties if injuries actually occur

Granted I haven't deep dived the rule book in about 7 years (since I wrote a paper on it for a legal seminar on sports law) but slashing is one of those penalties where intent is inferred for the match per the rule book
