Curtis Walker Curator and Caretaker of the WHA Hall of Fame Email: curtis@curtiswalker.com The World Hockey Association Hall of Fame http://wha-hof.com The World Hockey Association existed from 1972-1979. When the WHA ceased operations, four of its franchises (Edmonton Oilers, Hartford Whalers, Quebec Nordiques, Winnipeg Jets) were absorbed by the National Hockey League. The WHA Hall of Fame was established in 2009 and is situated inside the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth, Minnesota, on 801 Hat Trick Avenue. So far they have only had two induction ceremonies in 12 years, one in 2010, and the other in 2012. They are working on a possible third induction ceremony. There are currently 55 inductees. 47 inducted in 2010, and 8 inducted in 2012. In total there are 42 Canadians, 9 Americans, and 4 Swedes in the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame.
