I didn't think the Raymond hit was all that bad, but it wasn't necessary, either. Sharp gave Ehrhoff a legit slew-foot, so I don't know what the problem is there.

That was not a slew foot. It might have been a trip if you know the play had actually been going. That they scored on that powerplay annoys me. However, Chicago played like shit in that period and they are lucky to be down 2.

Whew a little escape there Nesquick with Luango losing that at the end. Chicago was really done in by a dog shit second period.

Things I liked about the Game:
1. The Physicality. Last year it felt like Chicago was the only team being physical. This year both are hitting the shit out of each other and Vancouver seems slightly meaner and nastier.
2. Back and forth. Man this one was a roller coaster. I really enjoyed the ebb and flow and it's what makes playoff hockey great.
3. The Vancouver Penalty Kill. Damn are they really strong on the penalty kill. They are fundamentally sound but also incredibly aggressive which I feel is the most effective. Chicago has a good powerplay and they made them look silly. Kind of remind me of the Stars teams of old.
4. The National Anthem at the Beginning. That is just really cool shit. Vancouver has a good crowd in general. They really know how to react to ebb and flow. That said...

Things I didn't like:
1. The fucking "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOU" chants every time the puck comes within 15 feet of Luango whether he did anything meriting a cheer or not. I mean it's one thing to chant your goalies name when he makes a nice safe but when he makes a routine stop or even worse when he gets totally beat and it happens to go off a post it is not the time to break out his name. Devalues the fuck out of it and makes it very annoying.
2. Chicago deciding that this was the Superbowl with a 54 minute halftime rather than a hockey game with three periods. That was just atrocious second period play. Vancouver caused a lot of the problems but that was ugly.
3. Chicago's sticks. Why did these motherfuckers keep breaking?
4. Cap Casualties. This is what I hate most of all. This Chicago team is really a shell of the team last year. I think we were cheated out of a phenomenal conference finals matchup between two amazing teams this year because they had to partially blow it up. Shame.

+1

also, nesquick or whoever else knows, what happened to those guys in green morph suits? did i completely miss seeing them or is that trend over now?

i don't have any real allegiance to any team in the playoffs, but i'd really like to see a canadian team win the cup. it's way overdue. i really dislike the canucks and i've always had a soft spot for montreal, so allons y habs!

They were around this season I think. I remember them throwing waffles when the Leafs were in town and giving the Kings guys a hard time. Maybe they don't have playoff tickets :(

It's also funny watching Montreal beat Boston.

I was at Flyers-Sabres game 2. It might be the best hockey game I've ever seen (or at least the best first period of any game I've ever seen). Some pretty poor calls by the refs seemed to wake up the Flyers (who have been asleep for months). The intensity died down only a little in the second and third periods. I hope this can carry over into game 3. I'm not sure who the Goalie will be, though.

If the Flyers would invest a dime into a goaltender then they'd probably have won a cup in recent years. Instead they go in with the Cechmanek, Niittymaki, Leighton etc. This year their team may be good enough to overcome their bad goaltending, but I'm not a believer yet. Game 2 was an exciting game though, hopefully the rest of the series follows suit.

They'd look so much better if Biron didn't bolt.

Everyone go vote for Bobby Butler: http://www2.tsn.ca/showdown/2011/

It's a nice enough goal, but fuck it's overrated. People make it seem like the second coming of that nice goal that Jesus scored.

Boucher has a tendency to get hot in the playoffs. He is a guy you can ride for a while. We'll see how long it lasts, though.
