it was a hit straight to the head. it also looked like he may have left his feet a little bit, though that may have been a result of the momentum he carried into the hit.

while torres is a cunt, i'm loath to say so considering i quite liked his very cunty play when he played for the oilers.

What was wrong with the hit?

Leads high blind side and gets the elbows up again (although with enough subtlety this time to avoid drawing true ire). He's just out to injure people. All that separates him from Cooke is that he's cleverer about how he hits people.

BTW nice of Chicago to hold all these goals back for game 4.

It's not from the blindside, he doesn't leave his feet and he doesn't leave his feet. Seabrook has his head down.

I like how he's gone from a good, honest hard hitting player to a villain thanks to that Eberle hit.

I thought it was quite interesting that Chicago is now outscoring Vancouver in the series despite being down 3-1.

strangely you didn't address one thing: the fact that it was a hit to the head (and a pretty vicious one at that). because that's all that matters here. a couple years ago nobody would've batted an eye over that hit, but given the increased scrutiny over hits to the head (completely justified imo considering the information coming out recently) that hit is going to be considered dirty 100% of the time. everyone knows this, including torres. this is especially the case when the targets are young, small and gifted players like eberle or crosby.

If you take away the second period of last nites game, that might be different.

The NHL made it clear that the person receiving the hit is also responsible. If Seabrook had been playing hockey instead of admiring his new skates, he could have avoided getting hit in the head.

Man I was talking with this guy from Vancouver and you know he was basically dissing the Hawks and I never had a problem with the orginization, but man I couldnt take all the pride and how its "our Canadian sport" so I just told him "I forgot which team was an original six ....... Which one. Oh thats right". I can't concentrate too well from the Stanley Cup ringing in my ear."

And then watching this game, Hawks up 5-0, not saying they'll win the series but seeing us get into overrated Luongo, and all the physicallity Vancouvers trying to get in at the end of the 2nd their, it sure will be exciting back here in Chicago.

Not really. The defensemen let Hossa in too easy and Luongo let in a softy. Then they added a quick one and we disappeared.

Schneider for game 6?

If you are already going to that one then I say you guys have some big confidence issues. This is pretty bad news for you because your team is going to get tight. You better win in Chicago because if they make it to 7 I think they win.

If Vancouver loses this series, LOL and goodbye to Vigneault. You'd think after getting blown out he'd have his team ready for the next game.

I just had to have six consecutive showers after seeing that Bobby Ryan goal.
