Iowa-Purdue?

Yes. The entire Purdue team will now be slaughtered and replaced with a new one for losing to Iowa.

texas 13
kansas state 10
officials 7

apparently texas lost by 4....? and they out-gained ksu 311-120.

yeah fuck those officials. same as last week. a free drive because of two back to back terrible calls leads to a free touchdown at the end of the first half and turns out to be the game changing series of plays. fuck off refs making terrible calls in tight defensive games that effect the outcomes way more than they should. two weeks in a row is fucking ridiculous.

this week it was worse because the zebras then proceeded to NOT make the same calls in identical situations when texas would have been the benefactor and not ksu.

it's annoying that 3 or 4 terrible calls are the difference between 6-4 and 8-2.

man, fuck this. I stand by my Sucking Cocks/Spoiled Children comment though.

Rose Bowl aint bad. I don't think the Ducks would've jumped Bama in the rankings anyway, and even if they did, there's not a lotta reason to believe LSU wouldn't handle them again.

But as far as this specific game...FUCK. All these little miracles kept happening and it just seemed like destiny, I mean, the 90 something yard return, the interception, Barkley's ridiculous fumble. I think the weight of this loss is totally on Chip Kelly. That was some of the dumbest clock management I've ever seen.

Lol highly ranked teams.

At least Michigan blew out Nebraska. If Michigan beats Ohio State I think they'll get the second BCS spot in the Big Ten (Michigan would probably be taken over a 9-3 Oklahoma or a 10-2 Oklahoma State).

Ok I think I'm getting too emotionally invested in college football. I had a nightmare last night about my house being attacked by Trojan warriors on horses.

It's crazy. I mean, I get nervous about watching the Pistons, Lions, college basketball, etc, but it's crazy watching college football. I get so nervous, sometimes it's almost not even fun. I'm getting butterflies even now thinking about the Big Ten title game, and it's 2 weeks away and I don't even know the opponent.

Yeah it's weird. I feel like I might enjoy basketball more, and probably baseball too, but both of those I can kind of appreciate the losses as part of a good storyline. I've used this example before, but the Blazers collapsing in the 2000 Western Conference Finals is just as memorable and meaningful as if they had won. Or in baseball, you've got the Cubs fans who are so proud to support a bad team for so many years. Football is just more warlike, and the losses suck.

Part of me dies every time I see MSU football lose. It's torture. The Nebraska loss this season was especially bad.

The triple overtime loss to Michigan in 2004 after leading 27-10 in the 4th was one of the worst nights of my life. I wanted to throw up.

*cue snarky comment from lonewolf*

That doesn't happen with any other pro or college sports.

college football also seems to be much more conducive to those little "what if" moments as well. Like the Ducks last night, it's easy to ask "what if Chip Kelly had used his timeouts wisely instead of holding onto all three of them with 30 seconds left, and ending up only using one to ice our own fucking kicker!" There are those little things that change seasons. Sticking with the NBA as an example, at the end of last year's round one of the playoffs, I didn't say "what if our star players were healthy and we played better defense and got like 40 or 50 more points throughout the entire series," because it's just too much of a stretch.

Our football game has already been played this year. Note carefully that your hockey and basketball teams eat horseshit.

I try to follow all my teams every year, but the heavy emotions depend on whether my team has the potential for a special season. When the Colts were going strong, I lived and died with every playoff game. Same with Purdue basketball the last three years.

When Michigan was playing at Michigan State this year with the chance to tie the game in the 4th quarter and Denard got his ass sacked on fourth down, that was painful. Really painful.
