I'm wondering justification for Silent Hill > Resident Evil 2. RE wins acclaim and maybe popularity? I'd have to look into that a little more. I know SH is the first in the series, but RE2 A/B plot is fairly influential I would say.

For what it's worth, Avery's horror list has RE2 one spot ahead of SH.

I agree with Man about Castlevania > Quake

On Castlevania vs Quake. Popularity goes to Quake (though not by much). Both games are obviously classics but Castlevania seems to clearly be a tier ahead in this aspect. Influence seems fairly close Quake is one of the most iconic early FPS games while Castlevania was obviously foundational for the Metroidvania genre.
