This game teaches bad morals. I just got good karma for shooting three people to death. Sure, they were cannibals and murderers, but I just set myself up as judge, jury and executioner. I guess morality gets fuzzier when it's a post-apocalyptic world with little to no government.

Finished Deadly Premonition. Immense game. Really want to play killer7 now too seeing as the endless comparisons it got for its cult following originality and general craziness. Not starting a new game til after my exams though.

Just finished Super Return of the Jedi yesterday in one sitting(which is amazing to me since it took me weeks back when I was a kid and that was on easy mode). Simply a beautiful game, so much fun and just the right amount of challenge. I think I'll pick it up again in another year or two and try it on Jedi mode. Now time to take on the beast that is Super Empire Strikes back (which I never beat).

Now that classes are over I have more time for games. Bought Knights of the Old Republic for $3 on Steam and I guess I'm beating it for the seventh time now.

Fallout 3 is kicking my anus. Maybe I'm attempting a mission the mission to early, but I'm trying to rescue some peeps from a gang of Super Mutants holed up in an abandoned police station. This is no easy task in itself, but add in the horde of vicious dogs and the piss annoying Cyclops and it's nigh on impossible. The most infuriating thing is I managed to progress pretty far, slashing the fuck out of several Super Mutants with a knife, but I forgot to save and got blasted. Now every time I try and recreate that act of singular bad-assery I get torn to shreds.

Yeah, that sucks. Hopefully I've learned my lesson on that, because I save often, now. And I keep a rolling set of saves just in case a recent save puts me in a position that's too precarious. I haven't done the mission you're describing, yet. I love that you're taking on super mutants with a freaking knife, though!

I'm not playing that way at all. I sneak in the shadows and snipe with head shots. Sometimes at a distance with the hunter rifle, sometimes up close with the combat shotgun, and with a 10mm pistol on ghouls and lesser Raiders and such. I save my sniper rifle and magnum for the higher level super mutants, Raiders and talon company mercs. And only on special occasions at that. Stealth and critical headshots are my playstyle.

Sometimes that plan goes to hell, though, which is entertaining. For one location I had to enter a particular subway station. As soon as I would enter, four Raiders would spawn right on top of me and be instantly aware of my presence. And two of them had freaking flame throwers. Luckily I had saved right before entering that station, because that DID NOT GO WELL. I replayed the scenario a half-dozen times looking for a decent result. The ultimate answer was to take a jet, equip the magnum, enter the station, cross instantly to the opposite wall, spin and key VATS. Four headshots took out three of them, including the two flame thrower guys, and then I finished off the last one in real time with the magnum.

Another time I had a bunch of super mutants in a park with a playground. A hostage was in the center of the playground. It was broad daylight so I could only stealth-kill one of them, which alerted all the rest. So I'd kill the first guy and then dive into a Pulowski preservation shelter. Two super mutants would converge on the chamber, eventually they'd give up on reaching me, and then I'd sneak out and snipe them in the back of the head with the hunter rifle as they're walking away. The second-to-last one was not falling for that shit, though. After taking out another one with a stealth long-distance head shot, he chased me back to the preservation chamber and would not leave. Big brute with a minigun. So I opened the door and unloaded in his face with the combat shotgun. That did the trick. Had to use my sniper rifle on the very last guy, since there was no way to sneak up on him.

I've since learned that in scenarios like that, the better tactic is to just wait until dark. Like tackling the Mall. As in the Mall outside the Capitol Building. Actually, the whole area inside and outside the Capitol Building is a freaking mess. Talon company mercs versus super mutants and me sniping both of them.

Haven't done the scenario you're talking about yet. I've cleaned out a couple hotels, a hospital and the Capitol Building of super mutants. But not with a freaking knife, you crazy-pants motherfucker.

Yeah, I've quickly learned to quicksave as often as possible, as I can't rely on slashing my way out of every situation. I really think I just did the mission completely out of sequence. I was supposed to go to Megaton, but because I hadn't familiarised myself with the Pipboy, I ended up wandering off in the wrong direction. Now that I'm on the right track, I'm finding it considerably easier - though still challenging - particularly now I have ammo. It's amazing I managed to kill all those Supermutants in hindsight, given that have barely any points in close combat, and my strength is average but there was no other way around it, given the massive shortage of ammo. Now I have gear, my style revolves more heavily around explosives. I stun enemies with frag grenades/mines, then pick off any survivors with my trusty hunting rifle. I just got done ridding a subway of fire ants, and the old frag mine, retreat, shoot tactic worked extremely well. I'm currently heading back north to Minefield to keep myself in that crazy bitch Moira's good books.

I'm absolutely loving the combat system in this game. I've heard many people criticise VATS, saying it gets repetitive, but I find with some imagination you can create countless badass skirmishes like you describe. There are just so many different ways of taking on enemies.

That might become a full-blown quest if you run into the right person.

That was the only way I could handle the Deathclaws. Wait until you run into one of those bad boys. You won't be knifing your way out of that mess.

Actually, the way I would do it is set a line of four mines between me and the Deathclaw (when he's unaware of you) and then snipe him in the head to get his attention. He runs towards you, hits the first mine and just keeps on coming. Sometimes he'll fall over, but he gets back up. Four mines to take him out. Sometimes they blow a leg off. Deathclaws are horrifying. If they get their claws on you, you... uh... die.

Finally started playing Bioshock Infinite even though I bought it the day of release. Hopefully this will keep me entertained throughout the summer while I wait for GTA5.

You'll probably end up finishing it within 2 weeks. I had to force myself to stretch it to a week because of final exams.

I'm trying to take my time with it to be honest. Normally I play through a game in a weekend.

Pokemon Black and taking my time. Downloaded Pokemon Black 2 as well, though haven't tried it, so i dont know if it's equipped with the AP patch like this rom said it is. Pretty sweet, and quite different an experience from the previous games I must say. Far tougher as well, but I said that with diamond and pearl also, and this just goes one step further. I can't wait for Pokemon X and Y cause it really does look quite brilliant.

Chrono Trigger. My favorite game ever, and after my 7th or 8th play through it, I love it just as much. The amazing soundtrack, awesome story, great characters, memorable maps and eras. The Kingdom of Zeal has to be the coolest city/map of any rpg. I really wish they'd remake this game with modern graphics
