My preferred method of taking them out is to hit them with a Tesla Cannon from a good distance away and then lay a bunch of Bottlecap Mines in their path as they chase me.

That's exactly how I would take out deathclaws when I was lower level, except with the sniper rifle and a trail of mines. I would also lay the mines before taking the sniper shot.

That five headshots with a maxed-out Lincoln rifle is the best-case scenario, by the way. I replayed my first encounter with one many times and it played out like that only twice: the first time and the last time. The last time I unloaded the initial four shots in V.A.T.S. (stealth attack), and then ran like hell. Once he gave up looking for me and my status went back to hidden, I stalked him again and finished him off with the fifth head shot (also stealth). Don't want to do that too often, though, since .44 magnum ammo is so scarce. Maybe the Scrounger perk will help with that.

Been playing Xenosaga Episode I. So many cutscenes at the beginning :( Hindered by the awful voice acting and pretty bad dialogue so far, but I feel that the story is gonna go places.

Two more bobble heads over the weekend: Big Guns and Speech. Still no cheating. Decided to progress the main storyline some, and hit up Vault 112. So cool. Definitely my favorite vault so far. I loved figuring out the failsafe.

I forgot about that one. Definitely one of my favorites.

Going through New Vegas again over the Christmas Break. Maxed out my Speech at level 12 already. Never really specialized in it before but it's worked out incredibly well so far.

Can't y'all just make a thread for this?

Started playing Dark Souls the other day. Holy cow!! what a game. As hard as everyone says it is, but such a blast to play. I wish more games were this brutal and unforgiving. I got up to the Taurus Demon before my saved game got deleted somehow, but I started a new character and I'm back there now.

One of yo guys really liked this game and had a Dark Souls avatar for a while, right?

That was me. One of my favorite games of all time. I can't wait for the new one to come out.

I bought the "Prepare to Die" edition during the Steam Christmas sale. I'm waiting to buy an X-Box controller before I fire it up though, as if it's as hard as everyone says it is, I couldn't imagine playing it with a non-native controller.

I'm currently playing through Spec Ops: The Line. It's far from the most original game in terms of gameplay, but the story is the perfect antidote to the military porn that's so bewilderingly popular these days. The plot leans a little too heavily on Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now though, which is unfortunate as it makes things somewhat predictable.

Finally playing my first Assassins Creed game. Black Flag on PS4. Aside from the controls and combat at times being wonky, I'm having a great time and it looks incredible. Naval combat took some getting used to, but I'm coming around. Love all the carry-over features from Far Cry 3.

Yeah, def wait to get the controller. I tried with my mouse and keyboard for a few minutes before remembering I had a controller -- it was pretty bad. People clamored for a PC version of the game so they basically just made the Xbox version playable on PC...instructions and all that are still given in terms of the Xbox controller. That said, with the controller it's perfect!

Beat the Taurus demon yesterday, so I'm feeling pretty good! Got the drake sword from that enormous and terrifying red dragon, but still have no idea how I'm gonna kill him :X

Oh, the drake sword.

You're in for a real treat, jumpman. What type of build is your character?

Idk...I guess strength at this point. I usually like magic and shit but I already have no idea what's going on, and I'd rather not compound that with trying to figure all that out. Putting on big pieces of armor and holding big-ass weapons sounds good to me. I think I'll prob wanna play through again in the future, though.

Yeah, I was a medium build warrior. Melee is just too much fun.
