Currently playing as the United States in Victoria 2 with the POP of Darkness mod. Yeah, USA is the easiest country, but whatev.

Anyhow, it's 1885 and I'm the most technologically advanced country in the world and my industrial output is almost as high as Britain's. So far I'm keeping my liberal Republican party in control, but the Socialists/Communists are gaining power and every once-in-awhile I have to quash them down. Right now I've set a few focuses in my provinces to encourage liberalism over socialism to try to keep the red menace down. If they take over then I have to manage a lot of my factories on my own and possibly decrease my military budget, which I don't want to do. My military is pretty large and I'd like to get some mechanized infantry going, but automobiles haven't been invented yet.

Recently I decided to build the Panama Canal. The problem was I had to have Colombia in my sphere of influence and they used to own the area, and it seemed like the European powers were going to add Colombia to their sphere first and possibly build the canal before me. So I manufactured a casus belli and declared war on Colombia and forced them to release Panama as a free state, then I added the new Panama to my sphere and got the canal.

I'm also trying to colonize some Pacific islands, but my technology is too poor to get a few of them at the moment.

I'm also trying to increase relations with Germany so that I can be on their side whenever the Great War comes around. I'm tired of Britain being on top; I want to make sure they burn. They also took over Alaska from the Russians, bunch of tards.

Just for completeness I'll mention the earlier part of the game: I was able to annex Texas and get into a war with Mexico very quickly in the 1840s. I had some trouble with the Mexicans but in the end was able to eradicate their armies and take half of their territory just like historically. Then the Civil War came along almost immediately afterwards since I made a lot of decisions that made the slavery debate worse. I was able to beat the South in about three years, had to occupy the whole damn thing to win but the war was never really in doubt. Ever since then it's been mostly about industrializing and expanding my influence over Central and South America. When you add a country to your sphere of influence you link your goods pool, so my factories sell finished products to their citizens and I get access to their raw resources. There's a lot of timber and rubber in South America, valuable products for the late-game industry. Fortunately as the USA I'm sitting on a lot of oil, which is another valuable late-game product. I was actually playing a recent game as Italy and got frustrated in the late game because it was so difficult to get the industrial resources I needed to keep up with the other Great Powers and France had already gobbled up Africa.

I've been playing Loadout for the last couple of days. As an arena shooter it's as fun as hell, enhanced by the wacky aesthetic. My only problem with it is that it's free to play with microtransactions and, while these aren't as compulsory as in other games, you are at a significant disadvantage against other players who have paid as your weapons can't upgrade as quickly so you're left getting torched by some people in a one-on-one situation.

I haven't played many current games, but I just beat Bioshock Infinite and it might just be my new favorite video game of all time. Such a beautiful, thought-provoking piece of art.

I've been playing BioShock 2. I've owned it for quite a while but never played it. Decided to finish that one before tackling BioShock Infinite. I'm really enjoying it, so far. It's pretty cool getting to play as a Big Daddy. The underwater sequences are a really nice touch. By far the best water affects I've ever seen in a game. Most game water is so unnaturally clear, like you're in a swimming pool, but you can actually see particulate matter in BioShock 2's ocean. I guess it was criticized for being a rehash of the first game, but, what the heck, it's called BioShock 2. And I've heard it has a much stronger ending than the first one.

Bringing down a Big Sister with my drill arm was very satisfying. I love how epic and challenging every battle with a Big Daddy or Big Sister is. And, man, the shit hits the fan every time your Little Sister starts draining a corpse. Thank goodness for trap mines.

I'm thinking about trying this.

It's well worth playing. I've logged 26 hours in the past two weeks. Insanely fun.

Wow, I love this game. Where a lot of modern games of the platforming genre fall short (pardon the pun) is that they lack originality. Either their entire concept is based around homages to the 8-bit glory days of platforming (e.g., I Wanna Be the Guy) or they are sequels in series that have long-ago been retired and hit the peak of their potential decades previous (e.g., Mega Man 9*). Super Meat Boy slyly avoids both traps, injecting fresh personality, along with sleek controls, creative level-design, and super-challenging/rewarding/addictive gameplay, into a true platforming-lover's dream. There are certainly some subtle tributes to the 8- and 16-bit eras (the Street Fighter II-style intro and the Punch Out! sound effects in Retro World), but make no mistake, Super Meat Boy is its own breed of platformer. Currently $15 on Xbox Live Arcade and Steam, it's definitely worth picking up if you have the slightest interest in this type of game.

*Mega Man 9 is actually extremely fun and is easily up there with MM4 - 6 in quality. But everything that it does had been done at least as well in MM2 & 3.

Now playing Trine 2!!!

Most gorgeous-looking game I've ever played!!!

Surpasses the original in almost every way.

I just miss the goodies in the treasure chests.

Mega Man II for Game Boy.

Strictly as a game, its fine. But the music, holy fucking shit this is atrocious. Replacing the Mega Man 2 NES songs is criminal in and of itself, but this soundtrack is damn near unlistenable. With two exceptions, Top Man and Hard Man's music. Those songs are actually better than their MM3 NES counterparts. Actually Quint sucks too. The design of the character, the weapon is pretty nifty despite having a completely unpronounceable.
