if we do this rap thing, i'm gonna have to put restrictions on myself to avoid having Em's first three studio albums as my top three and pissing everyone else off. i might make a "have to have 10 spaces in between the same artist" rule for myself. |

Yeah, best be tr00, as Jake would probably say. I'm all for the hip hop list. I hope that Jake picks MC's for our doppelganger things. |

Nah, I say it'll be Liquid Swords. That, Madvillainy, 36 Chambers and Illmatic will be the top 4. |

I'd much rather prefer a hip hop list. All I'm sure of is my top two are gonna be MBDTF and Illmatic. |

I'll make the stipulations tonight. Let's dig deep on this one too tho brethren. Wish jjr and that one poster who had thepharcyde album cover as his avatar was still here for some obscure recs (i actually think his name was pharcyde). Tho yes, re-visit those classics, i'm sure it will be a pure joy to do so. Tha carter 3 what? |

I recall two albums he had as his avatar. Camp Lo's Uptown Saturday Night and People Under the Stair's O.S.T, both of which I will definitely revisit. |

i would place a bet that Kanye would have a couple albums that end up above Illmatic, but he'll probably split votes. Madvillainy and Chambers are gonna take top 2 at the end of this, imo. i'm gonna be pimping the hell out of Black Star, My Vinyl Weighs a Ton, Vaudeville Villain, and Blackout!. also gonna have a ton of Kanye, Jay Z, Eric B. & Rakim, Lil Wayne, OutKast, and Slick Rick. this list is gonna be extremely easy. i feel like i already have a top 30 in my head. |

i just threw together a preliminary top 50 in a very rough order. i have a lot of albums to revisit. http://rateyourmusic.com/list/jessmills/my_favorite_hip_hop_albums/ edit: i'm just going to keep adding albums as i revisit old ones and see how long it gets. that top 50 was a lot easier than i thought it would be (which i thought would be fairly easy). |

Binary Star needs to be in the top fifteen or twenty. |
