Holy fucking shit, Discovery just kicked my ass all over the place. Easily my #1 now. Damn, that's like the 5th time it's changed since starting my list and I still got heaps of albums left to go. Talk about challenging your perspectives!

But yeah, Discovery guys.

I went through and tried to make a top 50. This is so premature since I haven't really looked deeply into my 00s catalog in a while, but I was just surprised at how much less I like rap/hip hop than rock. Lol, no metal either. And Jake, I tried, I mean really tried to not have Funeral as my #1, but it just didn't feel right. It's in my genes at this point. My childrens' childrens' children will have Funeral as their #1, so back off.

1.) Arcade Fire – Funeral
2.) Bjork – Vespertine
3.) Portishead – Third
4.) The Walkmen – You & Me
5.) Brian Wilson - SMiLE
6.) Deerhunter – Microcastle
7.) Yo la Tengo – And then Nothing Turned itself Inside Out
8.) Broken Social Scene – You Forgot it in People
9.) The Microphones – The Glow Pt. 2
10.) Sonic Youth – Sonic Nurse
11.) Of Montreal – Satanic Panic in the Attic
12.) The Tough Alliance – A New Chance

15.) Panda Bear – Person Pitch
16.) The Wrens – Meadowlands
17.) Kurt Vile – Childish Prodigy
18.) Japandroids – Post Nothing
19.) Grizzly Bear – Yellow House
20.) Loretta Lynn – Van Lear Rose
21.) Joanna Newsome – Ys
22.) Dinosaur Jr. - Farm
23.) Animal Collective – Sung Tongs
24.) Sufjan Stevens - Illinios
25.) Boards of Canada – In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country
26.) Radiohead – Kid A
27.) Grouper – Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill

whoa apparently romeo was released with where's your head at in its original run but then split individually afterwards. Tho I prefer Romeo, that's a powerhouse double bill on a single

Floored by A Grand Don't Come For Free. A record that has unexpectedly stood the test of time.

I'd grown cold on Burial's Untrue the last couple of times I tried to listen to it, but right now it's starting to do its magic again.

Here's hoping that Spank Rock's YoYoYoYoYo places well on the final list. That is definitely an album that needs to be internalized in the 2000's cannon. Indecency rendered profound.
