Their classical music database isn't the best, it might serve you well to try to add in the correction.

As for my recommendations, I'm going to push Simon Finn's Pass the Distance which is an absolutely devastating psychedelic folk album and pretty much birthed the "apocalyptic folk" genre. I know for a fact David Tibet of Current 93 is a huge fan of this album and took a lot of influence from it.

I would also like to recommend Michel Chion's Requiem which is one of the most...well...it's a Musique concrète album and if you like the cover you should listen to the music...

I was going to post songs for these so you guys could get a preview but honestly they are two albums you have to hear as a whole body of work.

EDIT - I definitely second Yousha's rec of Docteur Faust, really great music. Make sure you listen to it on really good headphones though because the way the instruments are panned is very important to the album. Btw, Yousha, I think you will like both of these albums ^^^.

The only recommendation that I'll probably make is that everyone writes blurbs for their selections. No matter how asinine or how pconnecty the blurb may be, it can only add to a list. Empty lists are like skeletons. Mo mass is mo bettah.

Also, what's the rule of tr00, as far as number of albums per artist?

i tried making a rough draft and realized that the '70s contain by far the biggest chunk of my favorite albums, of any decade... this is simply impossible...

That's the sticking point for me. I've started writing down albums I really like, already have over 60 and couldn't imagine sacrificing albums in favour of each other. This shit's gonna be hard. Thank fuck I have two months to do it in.
