I'm well aware. And it also was phenomenally ugly (and I'm not just saying that because the Cowboys lost). I like watching cold weather games but when the weather is basically playing defense the whole game (or worse when its just snow and no one can play defense because defense is much harder to play in snow when you don't know where to cut) then the game is worse. Just because there are exciting games in bad weather doesn't mean it's ideal for a neutral site game.

DRC sucks though. Both he an Asante are tackling averse and given the linebacker situation I don't see how the Eagles fixed their run D. That still leaves Miles Austin or Dez Bryant on a gambling corner susceptible to the double move (and in DRC's case and engraved invitation to throw a receiver screen). I'm definitely not happy about it but it certainly doesn't make the Eagle defense unstoppable with their holes at safety and LB.

As Dallas demonstrated this past year bad weather does make things quite a challenge (although most northern cities are better prepared a true blizzard would shut them down too).

What about the Steelers-Seahawks Superbowl? Or the Colts/Bears? Both those were pretty awful games, and besides that we've been blessed recently with pretty great SBs, but again if the teams are good enough (which they probably will be) it should still be a good game. I don't want to sound like an old timer but I guess my argument is basically just man the fuck up and play in awful conditions. Maybe it's cause I'm an NFC North fan but I think that's part of the spirit of football.

that makes me feel better. all i saw was "2 pro bowl corners + nnamdi" and i got a little worried.

I don't really have an opinion either way. The quality of play thing is legit, but to be honest I think always having it in nice weather unfairly punishes the teams that play well in the cold on their way to the Super Bowl.

It would, but some QBs would crack that defense anyway. I'd be much more afraid of Revis+superstar blitzer like James Harrison than Revis+Nnamdi.

hasnt this happened before though. didnt they have the super bowl in detroit and there was a huge blizzard causing traffic. stadium wasnt filled at the beginning of the game?

Might be but I can't remember. I lived through the Dallas one which is why I bring it up. They had made some truly awful decisions to begin with about where to orient events (not really realizing how far apart Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas really are and throwing snow on the roads greatly exacerbated it.
