Wow, Beck is not the guy I normally associate with blues-rock playing, but holy shit that was awesome! He can definitely hold his own with just about anyone in that style.

And when does not Stewart sound awesome?

And it's all about that freaking TONE. Nobody challenges him, imo.

yes. yes, it is.

it's the tune that made me fall in love with beck back in '03. that and "cause we've ended as lovers".

Amen to that. Must listen to the full album at one go some day

and you have no writeup on that in the beck list in the essential page George. Slipped your mind perhaps ?

 what's there to say...

i think i meant to write that it sounds like a studio jam (which wouldn't be far from the truth and is how half of beck's songs come to be)

Jeff Beck makes art like Picasso, his Strat is the paintbrush.

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but I stand by it...

Nobody else can do to me what he does with just a single note. It's uncanny.

One of the more interesting blues rock songs I've heard.

To be honest, this blows away the Clapton version on Five Live Yardbirds...

That is insane.

Killer riff and solo, and that lick at 4:15 is pure gold...

the bass is probably as good if not better there and i can totally see Hendrix enjoying playing that, the transition is a bit abrupt, but works nonethless. not one of my faves, but nice.

agreed about the lick, very nice

dunno if anyone here cares about mma.... but i was watching this show, "ufc on primetime: velasquez vs dos santos", and at 21:40 they play beck's "roy's toy", which was a very pleasant surprise...
