i think like any style i enjoy it when its done well though i agree its becoming a slightly irksome trend after andy mckee and co blew up on youtube (and deservedly so, hes a great player) a lot of guys have the bad habit of just bashing the open strings in dadgad and proceed to throw in lots of open string tapping licks and harmonics instead of actually utilising the tuning properly. im guilty of that myself though, i went through a dadgad tapping phase for a bit. thomas leeb is one guy who i really enjoy who does a lot of the percussive stuff, i enjoy listening to his stuff as opposed to just watching it

When Eric is REALLY into it, at his most inspired, there's just nobody like him.

Agreed here, Clapton isn't the most consistant, but his best is truly the best.

He's certainly up there with anyone for sheer passion and intensity.

I'm not even gonna go here with you.
He's not as skilled and flashy as Blackmore or as versatile and concise as Beck.....but raw intensity was pretty much his trademark.

Im not going anywhere. I guess we just have different views on what intensity means. Wont argue about passion though, he has plenty of that (in those ever so rare moments when he's really ON).
