Potentially unpopular opinion posed as question:

Is there a better rock song than The Rat from the past 10ish years?

my questionanswer that may be more unpopular: Is there an indie rock song DDD overrates more than The Rat? I could turn on the radio to the rock station right now and probably hear something pretty equivalent.

yeah i feel the same batman

andrew idk, brainbombs, terminals, boris, king khan, jay reatard all have multiple songs that rock harder and better than the rat, and that's excluding a lot of the hardcore/garage underground. japan exports so much good rock music too.

I couldn't. But that's because I'm in Miami and the radio sucks here.

I have such a beautiful vision of Miami in my head. I imagine it as the world's greatest party, 24-7.

Well, that part is fairly true (as long as you have money). But I get tired of listening to party music on the radio.

Pffft... It's all "Sexy and I Know It" now.

Although, I do still rock out to Don Omar's Taboo whenever it comes on the radio.

"U Don't Know" is incredible. Jay responding to the sample's vocals ("you don't know...what you're doing") every time is fantastic. Maybe the most triumphant song ever recorded. Plus it is the first track in one of my best three-tracks-in-a-row for a mixtape:

I never used to like it that much - something about the punchy MPC feel to it, but one day it just clicked as one of the most badass tracks I've heard. Have you heard the second version, on The Blueprint II? I remember reading that Just Blaze said it was how he would have made the beat had he more time (on a Complex feature going through all his best beats) but I'm not convinced it's any better than the original.

No to be honest I haven't even heard the Blueprint II. Is it worth checking out? It seems like it was mostly a forgotten album.

To be honest, I haven't listened to the whole of it yet. It's a double album and it didn't get brilliant reviews so I'm gonna assume it's pretty inconsistent, but there are definitely some great tracks on it.
