I kinda liked Runnin', actually. Nice little tune.

But yeah I'm with Yousha, we just arent ever gonna be Adam Lambert fans.
Nothing against the guy, but I get practically no emotional resonance from his singing at all.

I REALLY like Mad World though.

Understandable. Glad you enjoyed Runnin', though.

Any emotional resonance in this?

Btw, I enjoyed that Gildenlow link. Any album recommendations?

Ya know, I think I like "Of Dust" even more.
It's a tough call though.

BtP is pretty much the definition of epic.

I reckon if he wanted to go really Queen, I would have extended the Tresspassing track into different sections... like as you guys say it kinda just ends, I reckon it would have been cool if it sort flowed into maybe some crazy guitar solos and then crazy club jazzy remix production, and maybe like a dark and moody vocal at the end. But I may just be thinking of a modern Bohemian Rhapsody. Idk.

Weird song. I like it but I can see it dividing Glamberts. I think it's a really good and simple vocal performance, no crazy high notes or whatever but the vocal is upfront and sounds really good.

I knew this guy would be a star from the very first time I heard him sing on American Idol.
I think it was one of those 'group' vocals where different people take turns singing.
I just remember thinking "Daaaaamn who the fuck is that guy?!".

I just wish he had more tunes like Mad World. For some reason I just really love that one.

MAYBE, cause the version from which he adapted his version from is so damn good....and SO much better....subtlety and minimalism like this is something Lambert has a long way from achieving, IMO, of course...

also, one of the best music videos ever possible....

I'm so glad you qualified that with "IMO" Yousha. I much prefer Lambert's version personally. His tone and phrasing are better, IMO.
Subtlety can work best for some singers and not for others.Lambert HAS pulled the vocal acrobatics back quite a bit on the new album. But if one is looking for "subtle" he is NOT the right artist. Were Mercury, Dio, Halford, etc. subtle? I think not.
I saw James Taylor in concert once and though his music was pretty good, I found it all a bit TOO laid back for me and there was no "showmanship" involved. In short, I got bored.Something that has never happened with EIGHT live performances from Lambert (and counting)
But, as has been noted, it's purely subjective anyway. :tiphat:

You dont think Mercury was subtle?
Granted, as a frontman, he definitely wasn't...

But he could shift between extreme subtlety and loud bombast with remarkable ease...

One of my favourite qualities about Mercury was his ability to create such different characters and tones out of his voice. You're totally right Neg
