These three kids have traumatic experiences in their early childhood and it allows them to see ghosts and stuff. It doesn't sound like too much but the execution and style is brilliant and keep in mind that I've been awake for a day and a half so I'm probably not selling it too well.

You misspelled Boogiepop Phantom. That's alright, though, it happens to the best of us.

Cheers for the rec, though. Ghost Hound has been on my "Want to Watch" list for a while now. I think I'll give it a shot once I've dragged myself through Another. So far it's...not good.

It's always worth watching. It's quite multi-layered so re-watches are pretty much essential to truly appreciate it.

Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's so light and fluffy that for the 20 minutes or so you're watching it you forget all your troubles. The opium of the anime world, essentially.

Still cant get into Fruits Basket. Ouran High School Host Club would be my opium though.

I read Fruits Basket and it was just one sad pity story after another. When I was bored in high school I would play Ouran High School Host Club in class and everyone would freak out/love it

Lain is fucking great and so far ahead of its time. Still holds up really well today. watch it.

Is subtitles or dubs the better way to go with Anime movies?

In English, subtitles. Italian dubbing can be phenomenal if anyone can understand it.

I just finished Death Note and loved it. What do you guys recommend next? It seems like Cowboy Bebop is universally acclaimed around here.

Definitely recommend that next. I would agree with you one movies but on shows it varies. For example Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, FMA, FMA: Brotherhood, Samurai Champloo, and Trigun all have great dubs.

You enjoyed the dub for FMA Brotherhood? I couldn't stand it personally. Mustang's voice didn't fit him at all, nor did Ed's. It made the show come off a lot cheesier as well, which is generally the downfall of most dubs IMO. The only dubs I've seen that were decent were Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass.

I'm current enjoying Hyouka, the latest offering from Kyoto Animation. Certainly not their best work, but as a light-hearted high school comedy/drama/mystery it's pretty decent. It's a semi-novel premise helps in this regard.

Been watching Clannad and Clannad: After Story. Considering the cute, funny lightheartedness of the former, I figured that After Story would follow suit. Little did I know that After Story would tear my heart out. Definitely one of the saddest shows I've watched. Lives up to it's hype though (granted that I still have 3 episodes left).

The last episode didn't both me as much as some fans, or indeed shows with similar endings like: H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~

I've almost finished watching Space Brothers which has been highly entertaining, though not without flaws. I also recently watched the first ep of No.6 which looks like it could shape up to be a damn fine show and could well cement the already strong impression I have that pretty much all good anime are from the noitaminA time-slot.

Finished After Story. I'll make the font for this white as to spoiler tag it.

[SPOILER]I didn't expect the happy ending. I feel as if I should have seen it coming with the talk of alternative dimensions/timelines but I was thinking Tomoya would just commit suicide or something horribly depressing after all he'd been through. Although how did he become the doll in the other world I wonder? Via suicide, or did he will himself there? Idk. Kind of confusing ending and pretty interpretive, really satisfied with this show however. Loved the first season, and this season (despite some filler episodes at the beginning) I loved (and hated at the same time for making me cry lol). I'd have to say this is one of my favorite animes. Definitely in my top 5 at least.[SPOILER]

So I just finished watching Eden of the East, sick series though I feel like they try to wrap it up way to quickly. It definitely needed a second season. I haven't seen the movie yet though. Anybody dig Eden?

Saw it on Netflix, damn good show, though it is really frustrating that they end it in a hurried ambiguous manner so that they could cash in with a bunch of movies. Movie wasn't that good either.
