My input on Cobain is that I've always felt he could stand moving higher, but I've been waiting for someone else's input on the matter. Your input did not reflect what I had in mind at all, which is why I won't take your suggestions seriously.

I think that Boo Boo, Neg, Highway Star and Timi (maybe Yousha also) could help to determine Cobain´s proper placement.

What trap? I know what Echoes is up to, and I'm not 'falling' for anything. Looking at what he's been posting since he first joined the forum, it's easy to see that he's never gonna change his ways. I think it's all pretty sad, to be honest, as it goes beyond merely being a fan of someone. I've never seen anyone this obsessed about something so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

We ALL fall for it because we keep responding to him.
Seriously, how long has he been making the same comments now, like a year?

What the hell am I supposed to do, as a moderator? I've tried reasoning with the guy, I've tried ignoring the guy, and it makes no difference. I'm trying to keep a good forum going here, improving the list, but it's really hard when the most active people have zero interest in improving the list based on the criteria. It's all about pressuring me or George into doing things his way by being a pain in the ass for years and years until we either give up or stop frequenting the forum at all. If that's not a troll, I don't know what is.

Jesus christ, all of that because I want to move Cobain and The Beatles up? If it is such a huge problem then forget about it.

And now that I think about it, this last conversation started because Neg asked me a question about Cobain, I didn´t brought it up. Boobs also mentioned something about him.

Alright, show's over. If anyone's interested in discussing the list for a change, that'd be great. I think the first priority is splitting some of the guitar teams up, and your thoughts on who could stand to be split up and who should stay together.

To be fair to him, if he wasn't so generous some of us wouldn't be here either.

I definitely remember talk of Glenn and K.K. being split up, same with Dave Murray and Adrian Smith, and Hammett and Hetfield. I think someone also suggested the Sonic Youth guys too, but I'm not sure.

Is there any chance that Mike Oldfield could make the numbered list? Not too high I suppose, since he isn't strictly a "rock" guitarist. Although he has played with Kevin Ayers, Robert Wyatt, Gong, and other prog rock artists. And I think he's fairly creative in his guitar pieces:

Two excellent tracks by him. I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love his tone in those pieces.

Is he the guy who plays on "Wait" by Maggie Reilly? That's probably my favourite guitar solo in a pop song.

Tim Renwick's credited for that track. He also plays the solo on "Moonlight Shadow" by Mike Oldfield (With Maggie Reilly on vocals)

Oldfield's brilliant on Tubular Bells.

I think that guitar teams are one of the most distinctive elements of this list, so my suggestion is to keep them.

The only thing I would change is to remove Ray Davis and Thom Yorke.
