Through the Ashes... has acclaim, popularity, and impact over Blessed Hellride. Choirs of the Eye should be above both because of acclaim, impact, and influence.

Ashes was just another Machine Head album that didn't impact anything. Blessed Hellride's breakthrough (along with Hate Crew Deathroll) was the start of guitar solos becoming acceptable in mainstream metal again after a long period of them being frowned upon.

Blessed Hellride wasn't a breakthrough. The collective consensus of it was "Oh, it's another Black Label Society album" while Through the Ashes was more or less universally hailed as the return of Machine Head after their previous two albums flopped. Choirs of the Eye's influence extends beyond avant-garde metal though. It's influence can be heard in Agalloch's work, Opeth's post-Damnation/Deliverance work, and blackgaze.

How do you get that he's terrified? We, as a forum, have already voted on what is and what is not metal. There are very simple guidelines in deciding whether a band is or is not metal on this forum. All you have to do is PM Nesquik or thejew and ask them to make a poll about a certain band and if you really feel like they are metal if you can voice your opinion on ALBUMS that make a band metal, not just a handful of songs. You really are terrified by any kind of difference of opinion, aren't you?

I'm actually siding with JRA on the Machine Head thing, though I don't find myself caring enough to make a deal out of it.
In my honest opinion though, we should kick both BLS and MH off and replace it with somehing like Nasum or Blut Aus Nord, or even Pelican or Cult of Luna for their influence in the uprise of Atmosludge. I too can vouch for Kayo Dot

Except that "just another BLS album" DID breakthrough. The reason Stillborn is the #1 song on our list is because it got massive radio play and helped break that album through.

I don't really think BLS was ever that important to Metal as some may believe, I think it just rode on the tailwind of the Nu-Metal and Metalcore explosions with its Groove sensabilities. You keep on saying how important that album was for BLS, but thats not the point, how important was it to Metal? Cause I don't see it being more important than the other albums I mentioned here above

Like I said before, starting in the 90s there was a period where, if you were a mainstream rock band a guitar solo in your song was the most uncool thing you could do. Pantera got away with it, but a) they were the exception to that rule and b) no one dared to criticize anything about them then. Black Label Society along with Children of Bodom and a couple of others; once they broke through, it started to be come ok for guitar solos to appear in metal-core and whatever other forms of metal were the flavor of the day. That's why Blessed Hellride was important to metal. At least I think that has to count for something.
