Speaking of the Thermals, I just noticed that RYM doesn't list "Returning to the Fold" as a single, even though I swore it was. Its replacement will be either "Danger! High Voltage" by Electric Six or "Adventure" by Be Your Own Pet.

my Thermals singles will definitely include "A Pillar of Salt," and probably "How We Know." Maybe even "No Culture Icons."

I actually really like "B.O.B." but find it odd it's so regarded as the best song. Maybe it's only pitchfork that thinks that, but the lyrical content always seemed too specifically political to be regarded in that timelessness that marks the greatest. But yes, the song itself and its arrangement are amazing

yeah I'm pretty sure only pitchfork thinks it's the best. it actually wasn't actually that big of a hit. it didn't even make the billboard hot 100.

See I don't think of it as very political. There's the reference to the Gulf War, but it's not in a political context or anything. So I don't share that perspective of yours but I share the perspective that the rest is amazing.

well those are the most direct lyrics but a lot of them are quite suggestive in its crypticness and the way it's presented is very politically charged. But I don't blame pfork for crowning it, it sounds pretty representative of the 00's just as much if not more so than Radiohead's technological ambivalence endorsements. In fact, I'm not a political person, but last decade struck me as one of the most political decades since WW2.

I also find B.O.B. to be much more interesting in the context of the album
