Yes.

In all seriousness they're probably the band I like the least out of those, I think they are the most boring and one dimensional of all of the iconic rock bands, fuck even AC/DC are pretty varied by comparison, and they worked better within their limitations.

One band fucking rocked, and the other was pretty much a novelty band whose whole shtick was playing corny bubblegum pop songs on speed. To this day nobody does AC/DC better than AC/DC, while there are tons of bands who do what the Ramones did but with a hell of a lot more talent and creativity.

I do respect them a hell of a lot more than The Sex Pistols, without actually liking them as much as The Sex Pistols, if that makes any sense.

Well The Sex Pistols did fire their reasonably competent bassist and replace him with a smacked-out Vivienne Westwood mannequin.

The alledged reasons for Matlock being fired range from "liking the Beatles" to "washing his feet too much", but Matlock claims he left on his own because he didn't get along with Rotten very well.

And to be fair to the Pistols, they had the decency to never plug Sid up.

The fact Sid Vicious has become an iconic symbol of a musical movement despite not being a real participate in the creation of that actual fucking music in any way whatsoever is just one of the many examples of how much the punk mythos is total fucking bullshit, and there are many more examples.

Of course I love punk, but suck it up guys, you know it's the truth.

Jimmy Hendrix's guitar playing can be annoying and obnoxious at times.

He totally has.

When most people think of British punk rock he's the guy they immediately think of, he's even more popular than Rotten in some respects.

But I guess stabbing your girlfriend to death and then ODing on Heroin while on bail will do that.

Sid Vicious definitely is one of the few punk names that people recognize around here. I even got a tshirt of his from a friend whose never even heard a single song by the pistols.

Actually La Faro should've got more solos, which would only have been fair considering his short lifetime.

Nilsson Schmilsson sucks as an album. Nilsson made much better music.

Yeah, Rotten was the personality of the band, not to diminish the roles of Steve Jones and Paul Cook because they were very influencial in their own right and their playing complemented Rotten perfectly, but if they didn't have such a charismatic singer and frontman they would have never amounted to anything more than a New York Dolls cover band.

the neutered r& b of the 21st century has lost all connection with its roots and now serves as an abhorrence to them
