Poor Ferrer, I wonder how Haas would have done against Andy, but a good win for him, and a move up to 2nd place, very nice. Ferrer's consistency is amazing I must say, probably needed to be a few inches taller, or have that one killer aspect to his game. Still, he's definitely one of the best players not to win any of the major tournaments. Just one Masters title really does not suit a player of his caliber, and the fact that he's got 20 titles, more than so many grand slam winners, shows that he just lacks that extra bit to defeat the big 4, cause he seems to do well against just about everyone else.

Ferrer has a mental block against Djokovic, Federer and Nadal. He pretty much never plays well against them on hard courts.

But he also doesn't quite have the game to trouble any of them. He seems to play reasonably well against Murray though...again he's just not quite as good.

On clay though he's a massive threat to anyone other than Nadal I'd say. He beat Murray in the quarters at the French last year reasonably comfortably. He'd have won a few clay masters by now if it wasn't for the fact Nadal wins almost all of them. Nadal isn't playing Monte Carlo so he's got to be a real good shot there if he's fit and ready.

I can't see Ferrer beating Djokovic or Federer on clay either.

This paddle tennis sport is freaking insane (a video that Yousha can watch!):

That's nuts! I did a double take when the guy ran out the door to hit the ball.

The Bryan brothers lost to the Serbian doubles team in the Davis Cup today. If they'd won, we might have been able to pull through - just would've needed Isner to beat Troicki, but now we need that and a Querrey victory over Djokovic, so uh yeah. Better luck next year.

He leads Djokovic 2-1 on clay head to head.

He's never beaten Federer but has pushed him on clay a couple of times before. I think he'd have a chance.

Dimitrov took a set of Nadal on clay today. Good lad.

Dimitrov might have won the match if he was fitter. Pretty bad to be cramping after 3 sets (and not even long ones). He was the better player for most of the 3rd set. Had opportunities to break but couldn't...by the end of the set his lack of conditioning, and Nadal's experience told.

Very talented player, has obviously idolised Federer growing up (a lot of his shots are almost copies!) and could win slams. BUT he needs better conditioning to have any chance of going deep into best of 5 major tournaments. He's never gone past the 2nd round, which is pretty poor.

In agreement there.

Should be a cracker of a final. Nadal's struggled, and Djoko's been getting better, which means they should be about equal going in tomorrow, which makes it best. I think Djoko will put in a little more effort than Nadal, and he'll really have to up his game in order to win this one. I think the first set shall decide the outcome.

Well, he can't go on winning forever. Eight straight titles at any venue is incredible, but to do it at a Masters 1000 is next to impossible. This year, though, he simply didn't play well enough. He looked lackluster throughout the week, while Djokovic played himself into his top form. The rest of the clay season should be pretty interesting.

Eh true, better Djoko than just about anyone else. I know if I had seen him before Nadal, I'd have been a fan.

You can't be a fan of both?
