Because of the quasi-familial relationship, an easy method would be to imply that Lloyd was abusing his girlfriend, or better yet, Hernandez's girlfriend. Another one would be trying to portray Lloyd as a threat to Hernandez.

Remember, the defense doesn't need to actually prove anything, they just have to create some reasonable doubt in that element, which can often be as easy as letting one or two jurors' imaginations run wild. If we're assuming that they have a loser on the homicide generally, they can throw all kinds of hails mary to get it knocked down to a version of homicide that actually has a parole possibility.

This is correct but even if Lloyd is abusing his girlfriend a planned murder is still malice aforethought. Portraying him as a threat will be even harder. In this case it's going to be pretty easy to convict him though because the jury isn't likely to move into flights of fancy and crucially they've got some good forensic evidence (one of the things that when you don't have it juries can go loopy on). But this is of political benefit to the prosecution to go for it.

Will Johnson may have just inadvertently introduced simulation to the nfl. I don't want to be cynical, but I think a lot of receivers just saw what happens on a 50/50 helmet to helmet if you stay in the turf.

Nah because a) It's already been introduced, and b) there is a huge stigma against it particularly among officials which will be counterproductive to players.

Matt Forte looks so good this preseason, I swear he gets quicker every year. With those big receivers blocking on the outside, I really think he could dominate this season. And those white cleats are reminiscent of Walter Payton.

Oh great, I forgot we're back on the "I don't see any team that could possibly compete with the Bears" phase of the offseason.

No, I'm only really this confident in Forte. Watch his highlights for the preseason and you'll see why.

It's the preseason; he's really healthy right now. Wait for him to get banged up for a few games and you'll see how he's really going to be this year.

Does anyone have any fantasy football experience? Would anyone like to run a league?

Eh, any running back with five seasons of NFL starting has a murky future. We'll see how he does.

I'd be down to join a league. I've never run one before but I can if nobody else is willing .

My fantasy team in a 14-team PPR league.

Current Starters:
QB - Russell Wilson
RB - Jamaal Charles
RB - Frank Gore
WR - Demaryius Thomas
WR - Reggie Wayne
TE - Brandon Myers
WR/RB/TE Flex - Stevie Johnson
K - Garrett Hartley
DB - Harrison Smith
DB - Eric Berry
DL - Jason Pierre-Paul
DL - Calais Campbell
LB - NaVorro Bowman
LB - Derrick Johnson

Bench:
QB - Jay Cutler
RB - Chris Ivory
RB - Bernard Pierce
WR - Golden Tate
WR - DeAndre Hopkins
TE - Brandon Pettigrew

Only possible regrets I have: Picking Golden Tate with Miles Austin still on the board. Picking Chris Ivory over Mark Ingram. Also had a tough decision and chose Demaryius Thomas over Chris Johnson. Went with Charles over Lynch and Morris who I was both considering heavily.
