It's sad how they never nominate more than two hip-hop acts (and probably never induct more than one) even though there's a handful of eligible hip-hop acts who are more deserving than anyone else on the ballot except Nirvana.

The PBBB returning to the ballot but not Kraftwerk or Eric B. & Rakim comes close to a scandal.

The HoF fan poll looks pretty disastrous so far but it's exactly what was to be expected.

Yeah, I've never even heard of PBBB.

Hall & Oates is an awesome pick.

This.

And this. I mean, I love them too, but they just didn't make enough records. Two albums shouldn't make a hall of famer, even if they're two great albums.

Love is an interesting choice on your part, and I wouldn't mind them getting in (certainly better than the PBBB!) but I'm not exactly excited for it. The fact is that that era is just about picked over. (And the only artists from that era that have been overlooked are the poppier ones--The Monkees, whom you mention, or Tommy James, for example. Also maybe Joe Tex, who isn't poppy at all--can't explain that one.)

As for the rest of the ballot, great to see LL there again, and I hope he gets in this time. Yes, Deep Purple, and Kiss all are not the kind of thing I really like, but they all have good cases to get in. No one here outside the PBBB would be an embarassment, but for many there are better choices out there.

And I'll say what T-C has to be thinking--if they can finally break down and put Hall & Oates on the ballot, maybe there's still hope for Chicago. I hope so.

All Hall and Oates songs are better than Chicago 16, 17, 18 and 19.

She's Gone * Sara Smile * Rich Girl * Every Time You Go Away * You Make My Dreams * Kiss On My List * Private Eyes * I Can't Go For That * Did It In A Minute * Maneater * One On One * Family Man * Say It Isn't So * Adult Education * Possession Obsession * Out Of Touch * Method Of Modern Love * Everything Your Heart Desires * So Close * Don't Hold Back Your Love * Promise Ain't Enough * Do It For Love

Rolling Stone gave Private Eyes 5 STARS, saying it was one of the greatest pop albums ever produced.
