I'd keep a few others ahead of him as well, that's kinda my point though. He's a middle-of-the-road QB...not very good. He's fine and the Bears obviously don't have any better options. I know he had it kinda rough from '09-'11 -- if I was just gonna go by the numbers, I'd call him flat out bad.

My point is that if he was not 'very good' the Bears would have consistently been one of the worst teams in the league the last few years. I think in the next two years he'll start to get put in the Manning/Roethlisberger range (minus the 'greatness' aspect or whatever, cause they each have 2 super bowls).

Cutler is definitely a second tier QB. He's way better than the Ponders and Freemans of the world. I'd say Cutler is comparable to Rivers and Schaub.

Jesus Christ, this Adrian Peterson story is horrific. What kind of fucking scum severely beats a 2 year old?

AD's had a pretty shitty life honestly, two brothers murdered, a dad in jail for most of his youth, now this. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him as a man.

What's wrong with it?

It's wrong in just about every way possible.

The first tier obviously consists of 4 names: Peyton Manning, Rodgers, Brees and Brady, yet you exclude Brady and put Rivers of all people above him.

Vick and Flacco are both ridiculously high and above guys who are way beyond their abilities. And Cutler below Pryor and Alex fucking Smith? No one who watches the game should reach that conclusion. You also have Schaub below Jake fucking Locker.

Being below another QB doesn't mean they're worse than the QB above them. They aren't ranked in any order. I just included them in the same tier because I believe they're among the same level of quality.

You're delusional if you think Cutler is in the same tier as Alex Smith, or Rivers in the same tier as Brady, or Locker in a tier ABOVE Matt Schaub, no matter how bad Schaub has been this year.

probably shouldn't make week to week changes on something in which the evidence used to argue is already pretty dependent on situations.

generally speaking, if i'm ranking players, i'm looking at about a three year run (obviously adjusting for young players taking big steps and older or injured players falling quickly, although even that fails sometimes because it made me underrate Rivers)

Colts vs Broncos this weekend is unlike any other sporting event in my time as a fan. there is no parallel. my team vs my all-time favorite player for the first time since he left. someone help me.

rooting against the Colts is going to suck.

You're rooting against your team? I really don't understand you Pave.

Obviously Matt Williams is no Peyton Manning, and a third baseman is not a quarterback, but he was my favorite player growing up. But when he went to the Diamondbacks there was never the faintest question of rooting against the Giants. I mean I never booed him even when he charged one of our pitchers but actively rooting for him against my team literally never crossed my mind
