Faking a field goal up 4, wtf? I understand maybe in some special circumstances, but this was not one. Also, I would never feel completely comfortable with a kicker/holder running the ball.

What QBs do you guys think have the best arms? Not best overall QBs, or even necessarily most accurate. I mean just In terms of velocity, distance, tightness of the spiral, maybe quickness of release.

Cutler and Stafford are #1 and #2, don't know which order. Then probably Flacco and Rodgers (what's up NFC North). RGIII might be in that group too.

Kapernick has a really live arm. Rodgers you've got a bit overrated (although he's got the best on the run arm). RG III is in the group.

Carson Palmer and Philip Rivers have pretty good arm strength too.

They aren't in the top class though

He sure shut down AJ Green today I know that. Really the worst when you run into that circumstance because you can never bench Green unless you have two other stud receivers on your roster (and most people don't).

He's shut down every receiver he has faced this year basically. Torrey Smith had a fair amount of receptions against him (7 for 85), and Green had 7 receptions (for around 50 yards) in their first matchup. Calvin Johnson put up a pathetic 3 catches for 15 yards against him, Green this week also did nothing, and none of the lesser receivers he's been up against have fared much better. Jordy Nelson had a TD against him but only 41 yards on his 5 catches.

Yeah sure wish I had started Harry Douglas in his stead (but he's fucking Harry Douglas). Indeed in both my leagues I made a mistake in not starting Douglas. And I will probably lose both matchups because of it (unless Manning torches KC through medium of Eric Decker and Julius Thomas).

Well our matchup so far Eric is about as interesting as that weather delay in Chicago.

It's pretty interesting now. Unless Decker goes off I like my chances.

Flacco can throw 70+ with a flick of his wrist

Wasn't it Jeff George who threw from one field goal post and put it through the uprights on the opposite end of the field?

Anyway, do any of you think that the Bears will ultimately go with McCown? If it were up to me I'd definitely stick with Culter because he's four years younger than McCown.

They won't go with McCown. He's been amazing but not better than Cutler. The turnover's still need to be cut back (it looks like they had been in recent weeks) and he needs to get the ball out quicker, but there's things he can do that McCown couldn't dream of doing. Furthermore they need to find out rather quickly if Cutler's a franchise QB. In Chicago there seems to be uncertainty over whether or not Trestman wants Cutler to be his QB long-term. Word is that when he was hired he asked Emery to stop negotiating with Cutler for an extension until after the season. Trestman likes guys who protect the ball and get the ball out quickly and accurately, all things Cutler struggles with from time to time. With the system and the supporting cast being so good, the idea is you don't need a guy with Cutler's physical skills so much as a guy you can mold mentally. The last few years Bears fans have been saying we're pro-Cutler because we have to be. That doesn't seem true anymore. Most people seem to think they'll give Cutler the franchise tag and draft a quarterback in the second round. I wish they'd just decide after the season so we don't have to go through another "Will Cutler make the leap?" seasons.

Indeed. What was the reasoning for the no call on the last play? I was in a pizza place and the sound was off. Was it deemed uncatchable?
