Pineda sounds the best singing Faithfully from Journey's catalogue, but my personal fave perfromances were his early covers of Help and Alone:

Cool cover of Help! Was that all Pineda or has someone done that version before? I usually don't like it when cover melodies are stretched too far from the original, but this was beautiful.

I know I've distanced myself from this place for a while now....personal reasons apply....but cannot forget this place on a day like this....I've learnt significantly, gotten to listen to a bunch of vocalists i never would have thought....and have had people actually listen and comment on the crap i call singing......

Heads up to the people I interacted most in 2010 on here, and who listened to/helped me with vocals .....

Wanted (the man) , Sir, Curio, Rob and the 'couple' , also a shout to Timi , for keeping it real and bringing a wave of stuff all the time....a

along with the 2 amazing mods we have....especially Ikon in this case....due to Cruz being busy....

Thanks a lot and Happy New Year....

Happy new year everyone! Glad to see Beast round here... I wish you guys all the best in this year and I hope it will be a good year for the forum...

A vocal performance I'm currently obsessed with is this one:

Nothing techical, but great sounding and Kiske's tone is golden.

2008 was great, 2009 sucked, 2010 was alright, what will 2011 bring to the table?

I loved it, Avantasia double album (and I really don't like any active band as much as Avantasia right now), Iron Maiden, Jeff Beck, Kamelot, Rhapsody, Lee Ritenour, Allen/Lande, Masterplan, Blind Guardian...all fine albums...

Lovely! This one's also terrific: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UekRwzYM5xQ

Kiske's high notes aren't as strong as they should be, but he still sounds great.

All of the videos from Sao Paolo are great, the bootleg I sent you is from that show!

Tobi does seem to have to have a more powerful voice than Kiske, but Kiske's effortless still amazes me...

2010 for music... don't think I'll remember any of the releases years from now. Great year for me personally though.

I'm seeding an audio show from Essen last month. It's on Dime, sounds pretty good to me.

Hehe. listening to it now, the drum breaks in "The Tower" constantly throws Kiske off, making him enter on the wrong beat. It sounds pretty funny, and I think both Tobi and Michi had a good laugh about it. Even with these little mistakes, his singing is so good! He misses that one high note before the section where Tolkki's little voice bit used to be, but the rest of the song is sweet. Tobi is a bit less fortunate, having some rough moments.

But this is worth getting just to hear Kiske.
