So I thought to myself, "I won't bother watching Switzerland v France, it'll probably be really boring." :durr:

Racism? You actually believe that shit? How can you possibly know if a player's claim is correct if it happened on the pitch? It also wasn't the first time Evra tried to call someone a racist.

At this stage, you're a caricature. Read the reports, and read them with more comprehension than that which you use on here.

Yeah, I don't think Suarez is actually a racist, at least not in the Donald Sterling vein, but he definitely hurled a slur at Evra.

Also, both of these teams are bad but it's producing an entertaining end product. No one really knows how to defend or attack coherently; very frenetic.

Re-watching some of the game now. I still don't like Balotelli in this setup, he's way too isolated.

Italy - Uruguay is going to be one for the ages. Unfortunately for us I think Suarez is going to run riot. Prandelli's obsession with CM's of similar quality and our lack of decent fullbacks will be the death of us this tournament.

Awful performance all around.

It's a typical Italian group stage performance, I just thought after playing pretty well against England that they wouldn't play that poorly. Balotelli on his own is a complete waste, you're right. He's either getting the ball way too deep or getting long balls that he doesn't seem to be able to do anything with. Even when they bought on Cerci and Insigne they were just as bad up front, absolutely no penetration or calmness on the ball. 11 offsides? Did they learn? Just a completely unimaginative performance, the amount of times Abate hit the first player when he tried to cross was starting to get unbelievable, like I was in a nightmare. The whistle blew every 32 seconds, there was just not rhythm to the game. Eugh, I don't have enough bad things to say about that performance.

Exactly. If my memory serves me correctly we haven't won our second group stage game since Euro 2000 - a pretty telling statistic about our group stage effort if you ask me.

Hopefully Prandelli puts Verratti back in for the Uruguay game. The diamond worked well against England.

England's next coach needs to be more ballsy and confidant, and make a big effort on developing a fearless psyche amongst their next generation squad...
