Pearl Jam rankings

Top 10 overall
Top 25 overall
Top 50 overall

Ten
1. "Why Go"
2. "Porch"
3. "Even Flow"

4. "Once"
5. "Deep"
6. "Alive"
7. "Jeremy"
8. "Black"
9. "Release"
10. "Oceans"
11. "Garden"
-- i've eased up about hating Jeremy and Black obviously. i just got overexposed to them. but even taking away the overexposure, they still aren't that great tbh. anyway, Ten is one of my least favorite of their albums cause i just don't have a lot of favorite songs on it, but it's one of the few that doesn't have any really bad/forgettable tracks.

Vs
1. "Blood"
2. "Animal"
3. "Go"
4. "Daughter"

5. "Rearviewmirror"
6. "Rats"
7. "Glorified G"

8. "Leash"
9. "Dissident"
10. "W.M.A."
11. "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town"
12. "Indifference"
-- Daughter is the best of the early hit radio singles. although, its competitors are Jeremy, Black, Better Man, etc. so that's not a huge accomplishment. but i like it a lot still. can't stand Indifference.

Vitalogy
1. "Spin the Black Circle"
2. "Satan's Bed"

3. "Last Exit"
4. "Corduroy"

5. "Not for You"
6. "Tremor Christ"

7. "Immortality"
8. "Whipping"
9. "Better Man"
10. "Nothingman"
11. "Bugs"
12. "Aye Davanita"
13. "Pry, To"
14. "Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me"
-- tried not being overly negative about Better Man and Nothingman, cause i almost put Bugs in front of them (a song that cracks me up). anyway, Last Exit barely missed on my top 10. those top 3 songs are just amazing. those bottom three are ridiculous album filler and "experimental" nonsense.

No Code
1. "Lukin"
2. "Smile"
3. "Hail, Hail"

4. "Habit"
5. "Off He Goes"

6. "Present Tense"
7. "In My Tree"
8. "Mankind"
9. "Red Mosquito"
10. "Sometimes"
11. "Who You Are"
12. "Around the Bend"
13. "I'm Open"
-- not one of my favorite albums, but those top 4 songs are for real and Off He Goes is one of their best ballads imo.

Yield
1. "Do the Evolution"
2. "Brain of J."

3. "No Way"
4. "Faithful"
5. "MFC"
6. "In Hiding"
7. "Given to Fly"
8. "Wishlist"
9. "Pilate"
10. "All Those Yesterdays"
11. "Low Light"
12. "Push Me, Pull Me"
13. "(Red Dot)"
-- the Do the Evolution/Brain of J combo sometimes makes me think back on Yield as one of the under-appreciated classics. then i did this ranking and realized that most of the album is pretty average. not bad, just average.

Binaural
1. "Grievance"
2. "Rival"
3. "God's Dice"
4. "Breakerfall"

5. "Evacuation"
6. "Insignificance"
7. "Sleight Of Hand"
8. "Soon Forget"
9. "Of the Girl"
10. "Nothing As It Seems"
11. "Light Years"
12. "Thin Air"
13. "Parting Ways"
-- now this is their under-appreciated classic. the album itself is better than the sum of its individual songs because you just kinda get sucked in to the atmosphere.

Riot Act
1. "Save You"
2. "Green Disease"
3. "1/2 Full"
4. "Get Right"
5. "I Am Mine"

6. "Cropduster"
7. "Ghost"
8. 'Thumbing My Way"
9. "Can't Keep"
10. "You Are"
11. "Help Help"
12. "Love Boat Captain"
13. "Bu$hleaguer"
14. "All or None"
15. "Arc"
-- similar to Yield and No Code, a lot of good but not great songs. few top tier songs.

Pearl Jam
1. "Life Wasted"
2. "World Wide Suicide"
3. "Big Wave"
4. "Marker in the Sand"
5. "Comatose"

6. "Unemployable"
7. "Severed Hand"
8. "Gone"
9. "Army Reserve"
10. "Parachutes"
11. "Come Back"
12. "Inside Job"
13. "Wasted Reprise"
-- yeah you should notice a trend by now. the PJ-style-punk anthems are almost always the best on the albums, and the late-album ballads are generally the worst.

Backspacer
1. "The Fixer"
2. "Johnny Guitar"
3. "Supersonic"
4. "Gonna See My Friend"

5. "Got Some"
6. "Force of Nature"

7. "Amongst the Waves"
8. "Just Breathe"
9. "Unthought Known"
10. "The End"
11. "Speed of Sound"
-- honestly, this may end up being my favorite PJ album. definitely up there with Vitalogy, Vs and Binaural.

Lightning Bolt (so far)
1. "Mind Your Manners"
2. "Sirens"

the non-album tracks from Rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991-2003)
1. "State of Love and Trust"
2. "Breath"
3. "Last Kiss"
4. "Yellow Ledbetter"
5. "I Got Id"

6. "Man of the Hour"

Out of curiosity, do you only pick up music based on how terrifying their album cover looks when you're stoned?

Odd. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is such an average song in my opinion, and wouldn't work on the album if it were not the opening track. On the other hand, I think Spiral Architect is an absolute masterpiece of a song, and I personally love "Looking For Today," mainly for the flutes and horns used on the song. But yes, A National Acrobat is just an absolutely stellar song.

It's funny how people can connect to the same album, but for totally different reasons. Rock on my brother! Haha.

I always go back and forth between Coconut and Moonbeam. Today I'm feeling Moonbeam.
