He cuts an imposing figure and has a distinctive voice/way of speaking. That's it, really.

I hate his voice which leaves him with 0 appeal. Ppl say he's a good actor who makes many bad movies, no he's a bad actor who is bad in bad movies bc he's a bad actor. Vin Diesel could play every Liam Neeson part with no discernible difference

Except the demeanor, the delivery, the air, and the pathos.
Can't imagine this guy playing Lincoln.

I have to admit, divorced of the context and the sound, that fight scene looks really cool.

REC really isn't any better than Quarantine.

Oddly, I found myself wondering if she could actually be right.

Yeah, they really went overboard with the shaky cam and I usually love anything like that. I'll take Paranormal Activity over REC.

To Be Or Not To Be is a good film but it is only Lubitsch's most "enduring" because it ties in to a heated moment in history and therefore gives film writers something obvious to write about. Social/political satire was not Lubitsch's forte and the film doesn't really represent what makes him great as well as something like The Shop Around The Corner, which is good in ways that are harder to put into words.

I agree with you, but it's not exactly an unpopular opinion methinks
