Because Ryan Fitzpatrick is clearly the answer.

Well, guess that's marginally better than Freeman, Sanchez etc.

Hey apparently you're about to trade Schaub for a pick from the Raiders so that's something

Fuck yes. That means we can avoid the huge cap penalty of releasing him. Thank you so much, Oakland.

Thanks to you guys as well for taking such a low pick for him. Both of our teams got something good out of this trade. We got an experienced QB for a late pick while you guys freed a ton of cap room. Best thing as that Oakland doesn't have to worry about spending that 5th overall pick on a QB anymore. Now we could get Clowney or Sammy Watkins. I'm also hearing about the Raiders being interested in DeSean Jackson, so if that goes through, forget about the Watkins pick.

Clowney won't fall to #5, that I can assure you. If the Texans don't grab him, the Rams or Browns will.

Yeah that's true. In that case I could see us trading down for an extra pick since we won't really need anyone from the top 5.

I'd take Watkins if I was Oakland personally, or one of the seemingly elite OTs in this draft (such as Auburn grad Anderson). Raiders have made some decent patchwork to that O-line to support new QB Schaub, but giving Schaub a few toys to play with would be nice. Raiders need an impact offensive player. McFadden, Denarius Moore and Rod Streater don't exactly make much of an impact.

Thankfully Schaub is gone. We've apparently signed Kendrick Lewis also. That gives us some depth at safety in case both starters go down like last year (well, Manning went down. Reed just sucked). I'm fine with Manning, Swearinger, Lewis and Keo at that position. Decent depth, even if none of them are true game-breakers (though Swearinger may develop into one).

Schaub, definitely. Please. We'll take anything for him. The cap relief alone is worth it.

As long as it's not a trade, I'd be fine with it.

No one's trading high draft picks this year. A record number of underclassmen declared, so it's potentially the deepest draft in a while (next year's will probably be a down year).

The Bears have been hinting that they might want to trade down for a while, though I don't know if you consider 14 "high."

Crx, are you a member at any pay sites that do pre-draft evaluations?

Yeah well a 6th round pick doesn't really bother me. I thought they were thinking about trading something higher.

Why? They could have just waited Houston out and had to expend only money

I'm guessing they didn't wanna let the Browns sign him first.

That's a great theory except you're going to be paying him more than he would have got on the free agent market and than he's worth. Even in a bidding war with the Browns

So the Bears replace Peppers with Jared Allen, who will likely give them around 35% more production at around half the price. I feel much less uneasy about this offseason now.

Which explains what the Bears were doing when they signed guys this offseason who are primarily run-stoppers. Also he's likely a first ballot Hall of Famer, so stfu.

I'm really pleased with how the Raiders rebuilt both lines. We need to get an RB because it's almost 100% likely that McFadden will get hurt again, and we need some weapons for Schaub to throw to.

If Al Davis was still around you'd be drafting Sammy Watkins for sure.
