Wish I'd bet on this because I could see it coming. What put me off was that the bookies could too and so the odds were nowhere near as generous as I was hoping.

Well played Bangladesh. We continue our tradition of being irrelevant and inept in ODI cricket since 1992. They need to sack off Moores, disaster bringing him back in in the first place. Give Jason Gillespie whatever he wants to be coach.

Bangladesh - perennial losers. Plenty of potential with their population but no real infrastructure. Don't bother with them.

I'm still right. You can join the dots from there.

Sangakarra and Dilshan killing it again! Sanga on the verge of 4 consecutive tons. What a god.

So, still SA vs Oz in the finals?

My dream final is SL v India/Pakistan.

Always thinking with your wallet, Nick.

I think the match on today is the closest to call of the 4. I can see SA continuing their chokers tag and going down to SL especially if the toss goes SL's way and they bat first. The others I see as a lot more straightforward with the favourites advancing.

Of course!

I agree with your assessment of the quarter finals. Hard to see beyond India, NZ and Aus advancing. Shout out to a cheeky little choke from NZ as a slight possibility. Today's game I see SA winning unless SL's key men punch above their weight. Otherwise I have a feeling Amla, AB & Du Plessis/Miller will make mincemeat of SL's bowling.

I can't see NZ missing out in NZ against a pretty awful team it must be said. Come the semis, I think they'll struggle in Australia after being so comfortable in the tournament for a month, although that's not a particularly brave prediction considering it will be a semi final against a decent team.

You could say the same in reverse, though. If early wickets fall and the platform isn't set for AB and the middle order to score quickly and they're put under pressure early then they could just as easily falter. SA do have some of the current greats of the game but they also have some very mediocre players. I don't think the discrepency between great and average is quite the same as SL but I think their problems are similar. The toss and early wickets will be the key for both teams. SA lack a 5th bowler so if SL still have wickets in hand in the late-to-middle overs they could cash in.

NZ aren't slated to play outside of NZ until the final.

Ahh, I though both semis were in Australia for some reason. Will the semis be Aus/Pak vs SA/SL and NZ/WI vs BAN/IND? It's hard to go past a NZ vs Aus final if that's the case.
