he has not even close to been bad. He made two defensive errors, one in the champions league with Messi, and one in the prem. Thats it.

This is a perfect example of statistics not really meaning anything. Demichelis has been such a defensive liability that he was dropped from the Argentine national team years ago. He gets routinely exposed for his lack of pace and makes very bad decisions, especially in important matches. He's an average defender who is playing for a good team. They hated him at Bayern for similar reasons - he was always the weak leak in their defense.

He's having a great year, I'll give you that.

If you're accepting that Chem's stats prove he's having a great year then your first paragraph makes little sense.

I don't think having a good year statistically makes up for shortcomings he's had for his entire career. If you looks at the scorelines of the clean sheet games they are all against weak opposition. In five of them City scored more than 3 goals. I think he's an average defender who is having a good year. Nicola Legrottaglie had a season like this a few years ago with Juventus.

But Demichelis is having a bad year when we consider the mistakes he's made. In the games I saw him in against Chelsea and Barcelona he was a definite weak link.

Ah, now this does make sense. But before you were saying (it seemed this way to me anyway) that stats are misleading but then acknowledging that Chem was right that he's having a good year because of the stats he provided as evidence.

David Moyes is having the worst year.

In total, definitely Moyes. At the end of the season probably Wenger. United are improving, while Arsenal have declined hugely, potentially missing out on their coveted 4th place.

I'd almost like United to win tomorrow, I grow tired of Guardiola's slightly passive aggressive comments about any style of football that doesn't mirror his own.

He's a whiny, entitled little bitch.

Here's hoping tonight will be a night of comebacks. Both Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are 1 goal away from tying up the aggregate scores for their games.

That's residue from the Barcelona schtick. I still remember Xavi's long string of stuffy, obnoxious comments about teams trying to beat them by playing negative football; as if they were supposed to try to match them and get slaughtered, or something. As if purity were more important winning; not every example of playing negative is as bad, or even close, to what the Dutch did in the 2010 final.

Still love Xavi though. :godbless:

Xavi likes Matt Le Tissier which gets him bonus points. I seem to recall him spouting a load of drivel about how Fabregas should be allowed to leave Arsenal and had mistakenly connected him with the photo below. Taken when Barcelona were allowed to train at Arsenal's training facilities before the Wembley final of 2011. Silly sods. I hope the caretaker was on hand to give them a sound thrasing.

Few football managers are not whiny. Mourinho's pretty goddamn whiny himself, and probably the only one to poke assistants in the eye while at it.
