Dennis Allen fired. Best thing that could possibly happen to the Raiders. Now lets do a little thinking before we hire the next coach.

You're going to struggle to get anyone but a retread to take the job

So I'm hearing all of these rumors about Harbaugh possibly leaving SF after this season. I think he'd be the perfect fit for the Raiders.

He is not going to go to the Raiders

Why not? He took over a struggling 49ers team that didn't see the postseason for 8 years. The other option he has is the Dolphins. Why would he take that when he can stay located in the bay area and he won't have to move his family. Plus, he's worked with Davis and the Raiders organization before. What the hell is the point of even being a football fan anymore if I'm just gonna sit here until another piece of shit runs this team. The Raiders don't enjoy being a joke you know. I think Mark Davis has finally seen enough.

He's not going there.

I'm reading numerous articles saying that Mark Davis is sick of this crap. I'm sure he is too. Maybe his Dad couldn't do it but Davis wants to make a big move. And that could start with getting Harbaugh in Oakland. It might sound like a long shot. But he begun his career in Oakland, lives in the bay area, knows the Davis family and when you look at him you can see the Raider attitude in him. If it's really true that nobody wants to play or coach for the Raiders, I'm just gonna forget that football exists as a sport. Because they will suck for decades if they don't make any impact changes. It's already been torture sticking by this team for 12 years. I'm not waiting another 12.

If Mark Davis is as you describe him then he is EXACTLY like his dad except he's never achieved anything in his life.

Which good coach are you referring to?

His dad made hundreds of big moves, most of them just turned out to be the wrong move.

Gruden only won a Super Bowl because he had Tony Dungy's team and was using Dungy's defensive scheme.

So everywhere I'm reading says our main coaching candidates are Harbaugh, Jack Del Rio, David Shaw and Jon Gruden. Mark Davis said he wants a proven head coach that will win games. No more bullshit. I think in order to get that he's gonna have to fire the GM and get another one that has more experience. No coach wants to work with an incompetent GM. But the cap space and opportunity to completely turn around a franchise could be attractive to some, hopefully. I think the most realistic option is Del Rio. Although I'd love to see Harbaugh or Shaw coach the team.

edit: Davis said he might think about reaching out to Gruden if things don't work out with Sparano. They still have talks every now and then. I'd take Gruden over some other moron that doesn't know what he's doing.

David Shaw is never leaving Stanford. There is no way you pry him away from that. He far prefers college ball and no college team will manage to pry him away. That's a completely closed door. Gruden similarly is not going to leave the broadcast booth ever (if no one has been able to pry him out now don't think anyone ever will). He makes plenty of money and doesn't have to work one tenth as hard. And I do not think he'd go back to the franchise that dumped him. Jack Del Rio is a fairly realistic candidate because he probably wants to get back in the head coaching game and needs opportunities available. Would need a new GM of course.

While I agree that was the main reason, I don't think Gruden deserves no credit. Dungy took that team to a lot of big failures in the playoffs.

Where do y'all think Alex Smith fits in on a QB Ranking list? He's definitely above the Dalton line, but just how high is he?

Romo could be a bit higher. I thought you out of all people would have him a bit higher lol. And is Locker really that terrible? I'd say that's unfair considering he's been injured almost every season and he has incredible arm strength.

He's horrendously inaccurate (and was in college), has terrible decision making skills, and poor pocket awareness.

I haven't followed him much in the nfl, but I remember watching him in college and never seeing the big deal. Arm strength, sure. But that was about it. Honestly, keith price was a better qb and he could probably do a better job with the titans than locker, but because he lacks athletic upside I guess he went undrafted.

I wonder how much scouts incorrectly evaluate players just because the teams they are on in college. Maybe that could be the case for manziel?
