Finally have a weekend where I can watch a movie with my dad and all the movies this weekend don't look appetizing at all (He already saw Jurassic World). Man I would've even settled for San Andreas, but that's gone from the theater we like to go to. Seriously a shit summer movie season this year.

person makes list of movies he likes and then relates them to Heidegger's concept of being-towards-death (featuring The Sacrifice, Melancholia, etc.)

Martin Heidegger’s book Sein und Zeit (Being and Time) has been all the rage in philosophy for the last century, with every work since either referring to it or intentionally ignoring its message and impact.

looooooooooooooooooooooool

Okay Drew, tell me why it's worth my time to read something that starts like this.

I'm all for movies that involve satanic rituals in any way, so in that sense this movie looks promising. looks a little drab stylistically, though.

I thought it was self-evident that I was making fun of it.

two that come to mind that I like are Rosemary's Baby and City of the Dead (1960). Also The House of the Devil, but me saying that is kind of a spoiler alert (my b).

I've seen House of the Devil and loved it. That was actually the first that came to mind when I started thinking about that. Will have to check out City of Dead, and could probably watch Rosemary's again (I saw it years ago as a kid with my sister and dad).

Basically witchcraft and satanic ritualism go hand in hand

the reddit thread I got it from did mention this very nice article on the connections between Heidegger and Malick (the latter translated the former in school)

 most anticipated movie on tv of all time?

Looks like this is not airing after all. That's the word on criterionforum at least. A damn shame, I really wanted to see it in good quality. Although maybe it could mean a dvd release is imminent?

thanks, this looks really interesting. As do a few of the other 'recommended' imdb movies listed for it.
