people love to boast about the US getting the world cup, but our lack of soccer specific stadiums sort of sucks. We'd have to play in football stadiums and that shit blows for watching soccer because you're so far away from the field.

They never should've awarded it to Russia in the first place, which has been quite overlooked in the Qatar fiasco.

I don't support moving the 2018 world cup here. Move it to England or somewhere else in Europe.

Australia could host the World Cup tomorrow but due to the time difference it'd probably be the least watched World Cup in history.

I was really disapointed when England didn't get the 2018 World Cup, I thought they were a certainty. If my memory serves me correctly they were the first country eliminated in the voting too.

july is wet, after that june is next wettest. actually, they are all wet, your months. dec-jan is dark and wet... really dark, really wet. jeepers 10.5 inches every month, every year, every every every decade. ... that is a third of an inch of water ... every day of your lives. Singapore, a tropical island, has only 4 inches a month.... and well, it evaporates quickly... and then we have sun.

we have the odd brief rainstorm, but may-august in england is generally hot sunny 20C+ days 90% of the time.

certainly wouldnt effect the football.

I don't really see why the weather is a problem if the tournament is going to be in the summer. I know England's summers aren't the best but it can't possibly be that bad. This year we played in the fucking amazon. So why not have a little bit of water drop on their heads for a change?
well okay but...

"The best attended World Cup to date was the 1994 edition in the United States, where a total of 3,587,538 people watched the 52 matches - an average of 68,991 per game." :godbless:

it should always be in germany, brazil, mexico and the usa if attendance is anything to go by. the 68,991 number is stunning on any level, particularly in light of the fact it was in '94 and still on NFL pitches.

A world cup in England would be awesome. Next best place after Brazil and Germany.
