That was sort of weird though, Colbert would never rip someone apart like that

Season 2 is relentless.

I thought a lot of it was kinda boring. The whole Underwood v. Tusk stuff just dragged. We all knew who would win out in the end, and they pretty much just exchanged threats, agreements, apologies, etc. about stuff that happened off-screen anyway, so there was no immediacy. For me, it really lacked the suspense of the first season. Started the third season, though, and I'm liking Underwood as president. He can finally say all the things to other people that he once had to say just to the camera behind their backs.

yeah and because of that he talks to us less. took me like four episodes in to realize that.

Love the show and I thought it was a great season. However, and I know this probably may sound a little dumb, but here's what I was thinking in my head when season 3 should ended. (Spoilers):

Frank: Claire, if you leave me where will I go? What will I do?
Claire: Frank, my dear, I don't give a damn.

Oh man, S4 is extremely my shit. I'm one of those that didn't like S3 because it showed us a Frank Underwood lost in a presidency that felt too big for him. S4 takes him back to his roots, he's able to plot, undermine and sabotage his enemies and it doesn't matter if they are presidents, the press or his own staff. He'll fuck you up if you don't do what he wants.

Just marathoned season 4 in one sitting. I thought to myself when I finished it:

"Do not become addicted to House of Cars. You will resent its absence."

Season started out weird. Frank and Claire feuding felt awkward and I found myself drifting off while it was happening. The hallucination bit was terrible and served no purpose onesoever. Picks up after that; as JayEzzy said, Frank works far better as a schemer and complete piece of shit than a belabored and well-intentioned statesman. Conway is a great vessel to compare Frank's evil and misanthropy against.
