Also I think Kris Bryant has been really interesting this year. He was originally looked as being more a high-floor player than a high-ceiling player, has made a bunch of improvements in his game this year to push that ceiling up. He's cut his K% from 30.6% to 23% while simultaneously increasing his hard contact rate and power. I read one article somewhere where he tweaked his swing in the offseason to get it a little more flat. This is also making him moonshot less and just lazer baseballs into the stands. Kinda neat that he was able to make such a drastic change after being successful.

Right now he's tied with Altuve in WAR at 6.3 and only a little behind Trout at 6.9, but his defensive contributions at 3rd have been better than either.

Gary Sanchez is pretty fucking great. Fantasy team is locked in a hell of a first round matchup. 142-7 yesterday pushed the team from 47 down to up 78. They've chopped us down to 63 today but only one day left. Got Kluber, Velasquez, and maybe Gio Gonzales going against Thor. Come on upset

sox are starting to have their pitching be a strength. They're just as good as cleveland and texas. i hope eduardo can come back and be what he has over last 5 starts or so. steven wright's also coming back this week. they have strong starters 1-5. something no other team in the AL can say. the only weakness looks to be the bullpen. Looks like the orioles' awful pitching is catching up to them.

Let's be frank you're better than the Rangers who are doing quite a lot of rabbit out of hat pulling. I like the Rangers top 2 starters better but really nothing else they have is better than what you've got overall (maybe defense but it'd be close)

I think having 2 great starters in the playoffs is better than having 4-5 good starters.

Darvish>hamels>porcello>wright

Texas offense is pretty good too. Not as good as boston obv but still good

I dunno, I'm still in love with Cleveland's rotation. They don't have the names of some other squads, but the Kluber/Carrasco 1-2 punch is as good as any.

My fantasy team is also strugglebusing right now. Got a good squad, including Rizzo, Goldschmidt, Bryant, Kipnis, Correa, etc., but my opponent is still out-slugging me this week. That and I uncharacteristically missed on pitching this year. Got Darvish, Lester, and Carrasco pitching this week, but a few guys have blown up my ERA and my opponent is just staying strong the whole way through. Bleh. One more week, though.

Lost my 2 week first round playoff matchup. Starting pitching was dominant (Kluber, Hamels, Tanaka, Happ, and Ventura going into the playoffs with streaming of the Ventura spot later) and bullpen was pretty good for basically no Closers (Velasquez, yeah boy for SP, RP eligibility although he fucked us in the playoffs, Miller, Feliz (Houston), Barraclough, Bush, Nate Jones. Lineup was decent Suzuki (C), Cabrera (1st), Odor (2nd), Lindor (SS), Beltre (3rd), Harrison/Parra (platoon left field), Eaton (center field), Trumbo (right field), Sanchez (DH), Freeman (utility) but because Sanchez didn't yet have catcher eligibility and Cron and Maybin were on the DL not quite as good.

To make matters really suck though we would have won by 6 if we had not both fucked up and failed to start Happ for his first start (34 points) and Parra during a Thursday (would have been 14 thanks to a last minute scratch where he was the only one who could play).

We do have Lindor and Sanchez as stud keepers next year (costing a 19th and 21st pick respectively) and probably Odor too.

Just had to say: never play an MLB fantasy league with daily lineup changes. So much damn effort.

I used to play Baseball Challenge on ESPN. I enjoyed it, but it was a HUGE time suck. My fiancee did NOT enjoy the fact that I was spending so much time on it, and I eventually promised her I'd stop.

Whoa dang those are some nice keepers.

I cleaned house this year since i wasnt competitive this year and ended up with a pretty sweet keeper situation. Ill be able to keep 4

Pollock (round 12)
Altuve (round 3)
Fernandez (round 13)
Trea turner (round 17)
Bregman (round 30)
Fullmer (round 30)
Braun (round 4)

If you can, tune into the sox-jays series this weekend. Should be a good'un.
