They're also not well made or entertaining.

My views on movies are kind of opposite of my views on music. For me there's hardly any good movies from before the 60s, and modern movies are much better than stuff from the 60s and 70s IMO.

OK, could've certainly done worse. Though I'm kinda surprised that after saying "modern" movies are much better than 60s/70s stuff you pick a 30-year-old, rather traditional movie not unlike a lot of stuff from the 60s/70s.

No, I said I did not like much from "before the 60s." There's lots of good things from the 60s and 70s, but not many good ones from before that.

This one is FAR better than the original movie, Bedtime Story, with David Niven and Marlon Brando.

I don't like science fiction much, never saw any Star Wars, or ET, Exorcist, or any of that kinda thing.

Other favorites include ....

Goodfellas
The Color Purple
Casino
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
Do The Right Thing
Rain Man
The Silence Of The Lambs
Fargo
Reservoir Dogs
Ray
No Country for Old Men

Though I disagree that there's hardly any good movies from before 1960, otherwise your taste seems to be thoroughly acceptable. Especially since "Do the Right Thing" is a huge personal favorite.

Tbf if you aren't a cinephile, watching even the "greatest movies of all time" pre-60s can be a chore. With some exceptions. You couldn't get me to watch Citizen Kane again if you paid me

And just to defend myself, I'm not like this with all art forms. In fact, I'd take pre-60s music over modern music if it's quality over quantity (quantity of great music favors modern era obvs, but that's a bit unfair).
