To demonstrate that Cobain have a distinctive sound and guitar style.

Anyway. This list will be close until someone has the cojones to explain why the great guitarists of the last 20 years (Frusciante, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Cantrell, etc) should not be included in the top 100.

If nobody says anything, I will understand that all of you agree that they should be included.

Because they don't deserve it by the criteria.
And I don't see why we should be expected to make up arguments all the time. Why don't YOU, the CREATOR of this blasted list, try and justify some of YOUR placings on this list?

How does "Song 2", a song that is essentially a PARODY of the grunge movement, sounding like Nirvana the band (which was probably their goal) mean that Kurt Cobain has a distinctive guitar sound/style? Blur MEANT to sound grungy on that track because it was a PARODY of the movement (namely that it was so easy to grab a hit in the era - a guitar riff with a bit of fuzz and you're pretty much set). They don't sound like Nirvana in particular, and even if they did that says nothing about Kurt's guitar style.

If you're gonna cite parody as evidence of influence you might as well include this one too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FklUAoZ6KxY

Is someone going to answer my question regarding guitarists from the last 20 years?

Or can we all agree that they belong in the top 100?
