Those vocals are just terrible though I don't see how anyone can think they are good. The lamest guttural growl is better.

Outerspace was fun to my ears, not bad at all, quite enjoyable, especially a very catchy guitar riff, but doesnt hold a candle to the beauty of Streetwalker , and though Bonnet is a good singer and all, again, doesnt compare to one of Bucket's better compositions.....

thus, votes for AKKERMAN n BUCKET

On an unrelated note I played Mojave on my show today. I've decided that, for me, out of both both tourneys it is my favorite discovery yet.

Yasushi Yoshida - Under Calf, Winged Steps
Tricky & Roberto Malary Jr. - Grass Roots

Buckethead- Earth Heals Herself
Graham Bonnet - I'm a Lover

3D's - Outer Space
Jan Akkerman - Streetwalker

Rodney Crowell - Earthbound
The Crusaders - So Far Away

Loved the Buckethead (wow - very Hazel like), Akkerman (slightly cheesy arrangement in spots but only slightly and superb guitar), and The Crusaders. Will get hold of material from all three. The Yasushi Yoshida was very pleasant when the warbling wasn't too prominent.

Yasushi Yoshida - Under Calf, Winged Steps
Tricky & Roberto Malary Jr. - Grass Roots

Under Calf, Winged Steps was good, but I don't see it as something that I'd go out of my way to listen to. Grass Roots was okay.

Buckethead- Earth Heals Herself
Graham Bonnet - I'm a Lover

This is one of Buckethead's better, more tasteful songs. It's no Soothsayer, but I'll take it over I'm a Lover. I will say that Graham Bonnet's got an impressive voice.

3D's - Outer Space
Jan Akkerman - Streetwalker

Outer Space's music video was pretty amusing. Not a fan of the song, though. Streetwalker was pretty great, I might have to get some more of Akkerman's stuff.

Rodney Crowell - Earthbound
The Crusaders - So Far Away

Earthbound was decent, but not really my thing. The Crusaders was a bit better.

I was pretty meh on both of these matchups. There was nothing I loved and nothing I hated.

a blowout if there ever was one.
"under calf winged steps" was brilliant!!!! many thanks to whoever nominated it and i'm open to more recommendations in similar vein.

Buckethead- Earth Heals Herself
Graham Bonnet - I'm a Lover
ha! a graham bonnet nomination? i thought yngtchie was gone. anyway, i love all kinds of cheese - havarti, mozzarella, kashkaval, parmigiano, etc. - but i don't like metal cheese. sorry. too hard for my teeth.
that's a nice tune from my favorite bucky album, though my favorite track from it is actually "too many humans"

3D's - Outer Space
Jan Akkerman - Streetwalker
3D's need a huge healthy injection of talent. i'm not as big a fan of "streetwalker" as everyone else is on the guitar forum, but i do like it well enough and it's the easy winner here.

Rodney Crowell - Earthbound
The Crusaders - So Far Away
i don't have to look it up to know this is a batman nom... is very groovee

not very surprising, quite sure he's a fan, and has his own rendition of Maggot Brain too

Yasushi Yoshida - Under Calf, Winged Steps
Tricky & Roberto Malary Jr. - Grass Roots

Absolutely loved Under Calf, Winged Steps. Favourite song I've listened to in this tournament so far I'd say, it really blew me away. Sounds like it's from a great, strange movie that I've forgotten about or something, because it seemed kind of familiar yet so sort of eerie in a way. Grass Roots wasn't bad, but has no chance here.

Edit: have been listening to Yoshida's Little Grace album and it's fantastic. Sad and beautiful music. Not on itunes unfortunately but I found it elsewhere. Thanks whoever nominated it.

Buckethead- Earth Heals Herself
Graham Bonnet - I'm a Lover

Not really sure why!

3D's - Outer Space
Jan Akkerman - Streetwalker

The vocals in outer space were just simply bad. Ruined the song for me. Didn't love Streetwalker, but it was good background music.

Rodney Crowell - Earthbound
The Crusaders - So Far Away

Enjoyed Earthbound but So Far Away was great.
