100 Greatest Blues Rock Artists

Criteria: These Blues Rock artists were added according to their popularity, influence and critical acclaim within the genre. The output of the artists outside the genre wasn't considered.

Definition: Blues Rock originated during the early 1960s as a fusion of two of the most popular music genres of all time. As a music style of its own, Blues Rock relies on the traditional chords, scales, riffs and licks of the traditional Blues (especially Chicago Blues), with heavier, distorted electric guitar and a faster tempo. Its influences are seen in a multitude of other genres, from Southern Rock to Heavy Metal, but specially on Hard Rock.
