Re: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Why hasn’t Sampson posted his critique yet?
Sampson stopped reviewing songs on his website over a year ago. About 2 weeks ago he told Lew that he would get the hall of fame thing as soon as he could. Don't know what's going on with him, but I think he lost his passion for this stuff.
He did ...

Re: Top 10 Songs by Popular Rock Artists
Arctic Monkeys have been cited as an early example of an artist that got popular primarily through the internet and I figure that Dancefloor deserves a lions share of the credit for that as their first and breakthrough single.
That's true actually. I can see it at the top.
Also if nobody ...

Re: Top 10 Songs by Popular Rock Artists
I think Do I Wanna Know should still be their top song. I remember when Ryan updated their list I wasn't that sure of Dancefloor going down, but at this point it's cemented its position.
For Bad Bunny I'm surprised Yonaguni is not there, but that may be my personal bias.

Re: Films 2024
I was actually going to say you guys might be underrating Emilia Perez, in one of those cases of internet discourse being greatly exaggerated. Sure, the hate is huge, and as a Spaniard you can believe I've seen the accents mocked like crazy, but most of that discourse comes from people who haven't ...

Re: 300 Greatest Popular Music Artists
Ok if you want to define impact that way. Her influence (i.e. musical influence) is still not huge by any definition you go by. Almost all of the top 100 is more influential than her. And though I agree with suddenly using global popularity, that's also inconsistent with the rest of the list, which ...

Re: 300 Greatest Popular Music Artists
With influence and impact as part of the criteria, that placement is still ridiculous. And only talking about popularity, that placement is very inconsistent with other top artists of the same era. Rihanna has more certified units sold and more #1 hits and is 136 spots below her. If you want to ...

Re: Greatest Rock Bass Guitarists
I don't think he was ever brought up. Not against him being considered, but I don't see how he is a lock. Here's the last version of the list btw:
1. James Jamerson (Funk Brothers, session man)
2. John Entwistle (The Who)
3. Larry Graham (Sly & The Family Stone)
4. Jack Bruce (Cream)
5. Chris ...

They are kinda confusing, maybe to an uninitiated like me. If it's a novella, how would it be acclaimed as anything else? Or why would its acclaim as a general work of literature be different?

Yeah, great job on this and basically all of the classical section, which we sometimes forget you've done all by yourself
