I think 600 songs is long enough. The decade lists have additional songs that didn't make the all-time list.

In the case of "Material Girl" and "Raspberry Beret", Madonna and Prince each already have 6 songs each on the list, so it may have been felt that therefore nothing that's borderline by them should make the list. On Sampson's page about the 2023 nominees, he gave The White Stripes a 7. On that same page he gave Lauper a 6, which probably represents a more recent view than the source that you took that from. And on his 2024 nominees page, which is almost certainly more up-to-date, he demoted Oasis to a 6.

How about "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" by The Beatles, primarily for influence. Granted, "Subterranean Homesick Blues" preceded them, and each reduces the influence of the other because they were released together. Still, if the list has 500 entries, I'd think they belong on it somewhere.
