We may have had the best episode of Dynamite ever last week. Four awesome matches*, one of which is MOTYC, good storyline and character progressions, a hot ending that felt like it had tons of starpower, and the one non-wrestling segment (MJF & the Hurt Syndicate) was excellently done. Has me excited for AEW for the first time in months.

Giant Baba & Kenta Kobashi vs. Mitsuharu Misawa & Toshiaki Kawada (November 27, 1992)

This match is perfect. The story is so well told, and so simply obvious that you don't need me to describe it to you. A brilliant encapsulation of Baba's King's Road mentality and just as good an emblem of the passing of generations as Misawa vs Tsuruta. You will be amazed at Baba's performance here (assuming you are familiar with his previous decade's work). The old man's appreciation for what the others are doing shines through in this match. Misawa, Kobashi, and Kawada are so effortless and radioactive that it creates an astonishing contrast to Baba's effortful, labored movement and that is not a bad thing, as everything he hits feels like the defiant assault from a fading god. *****
