Dangerous: The Double Album too.

I can see these albums figuring into our top 20 or so. This is not a draft, just albums I think will absolutely be on our list and high.
Arirang - BTS
The Boys of Dungeon Lane - Paul McCartney
Confessions II - Madonna
Dandelion - Ella Langley
Don't Be Dumb - ASAP Rocky
Dopamine Chamber - Fontaines DC
The Great Divide - Noah Kahan
Iceman - Drake (although all three of those Drake albums will probably be on the list somewhere)
Inferno - Boards of Canada
Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally - Harry Styles
Lost Weekend - Phoebe Bridgers
Mutiny After Midnight - Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds (Sturgill Simpson)
No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto - Karol G
Nothing's About to Happen to Me - Mitski
Petal - Ariana Grande
Popstar - Tinashe
The Romantic - Bruno Mars
Ride Lonesome - Beck
This Music Contains Hope - Raye
Vol. II - Angine de Poitrine
With Heaven on Top - Zach Bryan
You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love - Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Rodrigo and Noah Kahan seem to be the front runners for #1 right now.
It's entirely plausible we have two legends (McCartney and Madonna) in the top 10 or close to it this year. Those were their most acclaimed albums in years, possibly decades.
A reminder: these list are the Top 100 albums of the year, with no genre qualifier, and we probably need to go back and add country and jazz records to a bunch of the 50s, 60s, and 70s lists.

All genre lists are great, but rock-only lists for those years make sense. The 50s list would become mostly jazz records.Ryan wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 9:45 pm A reminder: these list are the Top 100 albums of the year, with no genre qualifier, and we probably need to go back and add country and jazz records to a bunch of the 50s, 60s, and 70s lists.

O-Rod is #1 for sure, so far, imo.
