What about Louis Jordan? Maybe the greatest 40s artist.

Feel Louis Jordan is considered primarily a jump blues not a rock and roll artist in dddverse. (Though obviously the former subgenre is a huge influence on latter). Not on Sampson's 1940s rock artists list either. If we would decide to include him I reckon he could be somewhere in the top 50.

Some possible artists: Iggy Pop/The Stooges, The Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, ZZ Top, Peter Gabriel, Steely Dan, Rage Against the Machine.

Tbf most of these are already on the list of artists being considered for the top 200 (on page 8) but we did overlook Nine Inch Nails, ZZ Top, Rage Against the Machine so added them as well.

While they're obviously somewhat behind in influence compared to most of the upper echelon of the list, I think modern artists such as Kendrick and Drake, assuming you're referring to them, have more than proven their popularity and acclaim at this point.

The Doors seem kinda low compared to the rest of the 60s group. They are more influential and acclaimed than all of them except the Clash and Kraftwerk (and maybe the Beastie Boys), and are more popular than those three.

I'd agree with that. Think there's also an argument for Curtis over AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Rihanna with him winning influence and acclaim imo clearly over all three.

I agree with that. I also would have Joni Mitchell above Biggie, VU and Dr. Dre. Way more acclaimed than Biggie and Dre and also more influential. Against VU it's closer but she's more popular than them and when talking about musical impact instead of critics she's also a more acclaimed figure across the board.
