On Sampson's page about the 2023 nominees, he gave The White Stripes a 7. On that same page he gave Lauper a 6, which probably represents a more recent view than the source that you took that from. And on his 2024 nominees page, which is almost certainly more up-to-date, he demoted Oasis to a 6.

So Troy Smith is predicting that Outkast, Mariah, and Joy Division/New order all get inducted. I hope he's right.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is not completely finished with nominating and inducting 50s-60s acts in the main performers category. One per year at most.

Chubby Checker has a pretty commanding lead over everyone below him in that poll. Changes in that poll have occurred pretty gradually, and there's only one day left in the poll. I would be very surprised if CC doesn't hold on to 7th place. It's funny that the above headline says that Oasis may not make the cut. Since they're in next to last place, I guess not. They would have to more than double their vote total in the next 24 hours.

I'm glad of course that Outkast made it, but I think the minimal expectation for a passing grade for the voting body would have been inducting both Outkast and Mariah. And then they didn't induct JD/NO or Oasis either. Outkast may have been the Hall's biggest snub of eligible post-1955 artists before. Now maybe it's Mariah.

I'm glad that The White Stripes made it, and glad that they inducted seven. It now looks like they may be inducting 7 or 8 every year.

I don't remember the Musical Influence category from before, but I can understand Salt-N-Pepa being inducted here, being an early female hip hop artist. I don't really see Zevon as influential, he would seem to fit better under Musical Excellence.
