That's a pretty high placement for Macbeth. I wasn't even totally sold on if it would be top 10 (though it should be). I get Prometheus was talked about more, but man Covenant is where he really shines.

I thought most of these are for 1996 as a whole so Primal Fear/Everyone Says I Love You/Larry Flynt rather than for Larry Flynt specifically. Guess I am not opposed to it being on the list though.

I would stand strongly behind American Splendor for Giamatti, not least of which is that it is a more centralized performance. Being his "breakout" role doesn't hurt either in this case considering the amount of acclaim it garnered.
